IMO the other Resistance boxart is better.
Edit: Didn't read correctly, my bad. anyway, I really like this one for R2:
Although I think the first Restiance also had a very chilling boxart:
As for the worst, I dunno - I suppose I'll going with one of the many Wii games ONLYDOD listed.
IMO the other Resistance boxart is better. KickinurassThe collector's edition boxart looks much better than the regular art..
Just to change things up a little bit, while I wouldn't say I think this is the best box art, for a long time I did. Deja Vu was one of the first console games that actually had creative cover art. Go back at most 8 bit games and it becomes obvious pretty quickly that they were mostly garbage. I think it deserves a little tribute.

What a disgrace, compared to the original ロックマン, they just have to americanize stuff that doesn't even need it to begin with. Thats pretty much fake any ways because that not what they use for the Virtual Console version or PlayStation Network version of Megaman 9, its a downloadable game any ways, it doesn't need a boxart.
Seriously. Just because the Japanese did it doesn't make it better in anyway. :|
shadow_702
I'm not saying it is better just because its Japanese, I just prefer the original Japanese version, its just that people like you automatically think its better in English if its not Japanese. Because you claim every one who prefers the Japanese version are obsessive fans, thats false. Also, actually read my post, I stated I hated how they always try to americanize Japanese material that didn't need it.
The only Japanese games I saw stay intacted in the NES era was Chrono Trigger and even then they didn't use the original Japanese front cover from the Famicom version, but atleast they used one that was just as good, unlike the people who ruined the first boxart of Megaman.
Sure you can say the box art doesn't matter, but when I look at the original box art of the Japanese version of the very first Megaman and then look at the English version of the very first Megaman, I'm sorry If I offend but only a fool would think the English versions front cover is better for the original Megaman.
Like I said, they americanzie Japanese stuff that should be intact to begin with and not changed/altered. Companies learned there lesson for the most part now a days because its less of it, but back then they americanize Japanese stuff that didn't need it and only games like Chrono Trigger had exceptions. Which alone was a suprize for me when I found out they didn't try to Americanize Chrono Trigger or even the fact that it was released outside Japan for the NES.

Yeah, that Resistance 2 box art looks much better. But seriously, I never knew that Chimera guy on the front was an IGN editor :o.

I was simple doing what was asked on this thread, by listing what box arts I liked and which I didn't. I'm no Japanese fan, I study Japanese and play game in Japanese because of it for my own interest. Thats about it and I pretty much dislike everything about Japan, but the media, so you can't even call me a Japanophile. It not I dislike it, its that I don;t prefer it, so I'll always get the version I prefer, which is the Japanese version. Your just not open to what other prefer, so you claim I'm a Japanese fan, when I'm clear for the games only.
Of the big name games -- MGS4 is most definitely the worst, for the best though -- I'd have to say Gears of War 2. It's just epic looking. :)Stevo_the_gamer
I thought the MGS 4 Box art was quite good. It might be diffrent in Europe though. It's got like "Metal Gear Solid 4" along the side, and a concept drawing of Old Snake, with a glowing red light where the solid eye is. The rest of the case is just black and it looks really quite cool. I'll see if I can find a picture.

You kind of rub yourself off that way in the way that you post everything is preferred in Japanese in some way or form(Doesn't help that your signature is full of Anime chicks). Also I don't think in everything is better in English just certain things like the Megaman 9 boxart which hold a certain level of nostaglia to me personally. If you can't understand that then maybe you need to reamp the way you look at certain things. Also some Americanization is bad (i.e. New Silent hill) but some is done in order to make it more friendly to American audiences. Your personal bias kind of ruin your arguement.
i hate nerdy japanese fanboy people, you think jus because its eastern its better, so lame.

I don't rub my self off at all, just because I prefer something you don't, doesn't mean you have to claim me as something I'm not just because of a sig. Thats your problem right there it ok for you to think something is better in English, but if I think something is better in Japanese, you get mad at me for no reason. The sad thing is I never said the Japanese version was better, I just sayed its more prefered, if you can;t except that, which your comment above already proved, then forget you.

Egh. Those are just dull looking, absolutely horrible -- to each his own, of course.Well each audience has a diffrent pull, that's why we have diffrent box art for diffrent countries. Plus realisticly speaking the Limited Edition is allways the best. Still I think even Americans agree that their box art for MGS 4 is pretty bad, I seen it when I was searching through. It's creepy and boring, two things you don't want with any box art.
My goodness the American box art for MGS4 is fugly. Just FUGLY.

Then why is it that I'm American, but I have always been known to like the original Japanese box art more, so people assum I'm a Japanese fan just because I'm different then them.
This is one of the reason I'm so into the Japanese version of games, they just can't appeal t me when its localized for America, not ever. I happend to be interest in learning Japanese by quencedence, so didn't have problem importing games, exspecially ones that I like that I know are never coming outside Japan.

So bacially your saying its not cool for me to share my opinion, just because you don't agree with it. I can't say which box arts I like and which I dislike, which was the point of this thread to begin with, oh yeah that makes alot of since(SARCASM) . The fact of the matter is, you just can't be well open to others opinions and claim people who don't like what you do are obsessive fans.
Funny how if I would have said the English box arts were better, you wouldn't have said any thing, but if its the other way around you get all riled up for no reason and attack me, basically claiming I'm a a obsessive fan.

Because you're not part of a larger demographic. But that is fairly common, for any country. There is usually a small group in every country that prefers Japanesse art styles. I got to admit I do find Japanesse concept art rather cool, but it really just depends. Jappanese do spend alot more time with concept art when it comes to video games, with a few exceptions, perhaps even including the latest PoP.
