I'll have to agree, but BF:BC/1943's audio is pretty good also.I will go with MGS4..that game had amazing audio.

Could you be a little more specific. Do mean soundtrack(original or licensed) or do you mean in-game sound effects?

I think he means overall.
If we are talking regular game music I'll go with MGS games, but actual band music I'll go with Guitar Hero: Metallica. kool-aidsI didnt mean music only, but others sounds ex. gunfire, helicopter overhead, car engine, etc

In that case Halo and MGS tie for best game soundtracks for me.While, in recent memory, Dead Space gets my award for best sound design. Every individual clang, hiss, and shriek made the stay on the Ishimura more..."alive".;)
MGS4 easily,
and although myself and others don't have many positive things to say about this game, one of the only things SOCOM got right was the sound. (when it doesn't drop out)
You're stupid if you say Halo 3. Some of the smgs and assault rifles in that game sound so weak and underpowered. The sound isn't explosive at all. It's just OK, but not amazing... I can understand if you like the soundtrack (even though there are a ton of games with a better soundtrack than Halo 3), but seriously MGS4 is pretty much king right now in audio. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxMvX4b-WkE just watch and listen to the chaos... if you haven't played this, imagine how immerse it would be with a good system...EwwFanboyshmm...Me and alot of other gamers must be stupid then. Though I like your choices.
hmm...Me and alot of other gamers must be stupid then. well, I don't think you've played enough variety of games through the years if you think Halo 3 has some of the best audio you've ever heard, I'm sorry... It's either that you're younger, an inexperienced gamer, or a huge Halo fan to be saying that...[QUOTE="EwwFanboys"]You're stupid if you say Halo 3. Oblivion, beautiful audiois a given with bethesda.

Sorry but i have to strongly disagree, the music was good but there are not that many tracks, too few for such a huge RPG. The sound effects were simply terrible.
I nominate MGS4 and Dead Space for best audio

in addition, Halo 3 usually doesn't get praised for it's sound as much. It's praised for the gameplay, amount of depth in the game, the online features/modes, and the fun... The weapons in Halo 3 don't sound amazing or anything. The voice acting is good. The soundtrack is good (but I've heard way better and I think that you haven't played enough good games if you think Halo 3 has the best soundtrack). Compare Halo 3's audio (sound effects) to MGS4 and MGS4 will destroy it. It's not even close. Soundtrack wise, that's debatable.EwwFanboysActually, Halo is praised for its sound as well. I'm not arguing that MGS4 didn't have a good sound design, but a lot of effort went into sound effects and voice acting in Halo 3 as well. It's shown in the legendary edition DVD.
But really you're not so much as promoting MGS4's sound as putting down those that think differently about Halo 3's sound than you.
I just loved the use of audio in S.T.A.L.E.R.
It created a great ambiance for tons of "OH S!@#" moments.
DOTA for sure. The ambient sounds and music of WC3 combined with sound effects from Unreal Tournament is pure win.
Nothing beats hearing M-M-M-M-M-M-Monsterkill!! on my surround sound
Thats a diffrent one, but i can kinda agree...."Godlike!"...lolPlease Log In to post.
