What is the best Castlevania game you have ever played? For me, it was Harmony of Dissonance for the GBA. I've played all of the GBA ones and several of the DS ones and a couple of the 3D ones and even Symphony of the Night on PS1, but for me, Harmony of Dissonance was just addictive and easy to get into. What's yours?

Im guessing alot will go with SOTN and so will I. I also think im the only one who liked the first ps2 castlevania game. I actually like the story and characters and it was a nice twist that dracula himself was once a best friend to a belmont.

Circle of the Moon, on the GBA. The music, the atmosphere, the challenge. It was pure win. Symphony of the Night comes close second (everything is done so well). And Order of Ecclesia (DS) is third, because of the awesome boss battles and glyph system.

Dawn of Sorrow and Aria of Sorrow are my favourites. Circle of the Moon comes probably third, after that, Symphony of the Night. I love the Soul system in Dawn and Aria.

I really wish I had a DS to play nothing but GBA and DS castlevania games. But so far I've only played SOTN, the N64 ones and PS2 ones and out of those SOTN by far takes the cake in terms of best Castlevania. Its not even close.

Really wish those other games would appear on another system other than a handheld.

Rondo of Blood for the TG16 was FANTASTIC, easily my favorite sidescroller Castlevania.

Symphony of the Night and Dawn of Sorrow tie for 2nd IMO.

Symphony of the night, hands down wins IMHO, I seriously don't know why they don't release a HD 2D side-scrolling Castlevania like it ever again on the consoles...the fact that they wont just blows my mind when they release a 3D castlevania that fails hard, so what do they do next? A castlevania fighter!...seriously?

I don't see how anybody could say any other Castlevania game besides this one. Symphony of the Night is by far the best Castlevania game ever made. Oh and it is a PS1 game. It is also my second favorite game of all time right under Final Fantasy 7.

  1. Castlevania: Sympathy of the Night
  2. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
  3. Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
  4. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
  5. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (except for the lame art work lol)
