Best Console of All Time?

Anyone have a best console of all time?

personally these are my top 10:

definitly ps1:

1-resident evil

2-final fantasy 7 (first time in 3d )

3-parasite eve

4-persona

5-wild arms

and many many new ips came from ps1 .

I agree with what you said, but because of that, I think SNES and NES are the 2 best systems.

10: atari, great games (also the worst game ever created)

9:nintendo gameboy, it has pokemanz

8. sega gamegear. it was the first handheld with color :) it was big tho :(

7: sega genisis, had some great series. and i like sonic games (old scool plzkthx)

6:nintendo gamecube: nintendos worst console but meele rocked, so did windwaker (had some other cool stuff)

5:nintendo 64: it hold the best gameever made (OoT) and goldeneye, majoras mask and many other games

4:Sony playstation 2 Had alot of good games. put sony at the king spot

3:Nintendo Entertainment System, Birth of Mario, zelda, dokey kong, yoshi, metroid, kirby, snake (metal gear), Ryu (ninja gaiden) and so on

2:Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Zelda LTTP, super mario world, donkey kong country, starfox. pushed graphics far further than the days of NES

1: and the king of consoles: Nintendo Wii (any shock there?) it has some awesome games (Brawl NMH SMG) and its controles are very innovative (even sony is copying (6axis anyone?)) its got the VC that has some fo the best games ever (also OoT) its online is kinda weak but brawl is very fun when you get lag free rooms.

0: PC, its not a console but it is the best gaming machine of them all, 'nuff said

I would say the NES....

But has the Wii VC titles keep getting bigger....Just because of the VC alone it going to end up being the Wii...The best games from over 8 game systems how could anyone besides a PC gamer say other wise?

To me it's the PS1. My resons: Resident Evil 1-3, Tekken 1-3, Tomb Raider 1-5, Crash Bandicoot 1-3, Gex:Enter The Gecko, Gex Deep Cover Gecko, Final Fantasy 7, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Need for Speed 3, Tenchu, These are the major ones and than some others that I really loved: Soul Raver, Jurassic Park The Lost World, Croc, Nuclear Strike, Street Fighter EX Alpha, Destruction Derby 2, The Bug's Life (Yes I loved that game), The Unholy War, Syphon Filter, Fifa98, Vs, Deathtrap Dungeon, Rage Racer, Hercules....oh man I could go on all day.

PS1...best console ever...at least for me.

I would say the NES....

There would be no point to saying the GC when the Wii can play all the GC games and more.

It like when people say the PS1, why not just say the PS2 because the PS2 can play all the games on the PS1 and more. Or even the first PS3 which played all the PS games.

I'm so happy the thread made it this far without any bashing.

Anyway many of them are special to me but I'll have to go with the Super Nintendo.

because that denys the existance of the console, the ps3 is far fromt he best console ever. you have to consider the time in wich the system was released. yes the ps3 (if you get the right one) can play alll the psx and ps2 games, the question is. dose that make the ps3 better than the rest? the answer is no. BC is only for the people that had it the last gen (or want to try an old game they missed) and dont really add to the curent gen system on terms of awesome

i dont see why everyone lives the ps2, i didnt like it, it only had a handfull of games that interested me....and they al came out in a year or 2shadow_hosi

Take me for example. I don't see why everyone is so into the Wii, it has 2 games that interest me (SMG, SSBB)

What about Twilight Princess?

Would you pick a Nintendo or Sega system when the best games from each system are on the Wii or a PS1 or PS2 when the first PS3 could play all the PS games?

Me I would go for the system which could play the most of the greatest games which would be the Wii then the first PS3.

I see your point, but in ranking systems, our list was made in terms of what system originally had the great games, PS1 hold's precedence over PS2 because for PS2 to partially become succesful, required the being able to be play the PS1 games which had to come first.

I think this thread was already created once before. After everyone gave their opinion it ended up being between the SNES and PS2.

My personal order is:

1)PS2

2) SNES

3) Genesis

The only reason I picked the PS2 over the SNES it because it not only had incredible RPG's like the SNES, but also a large variety of quality fighting, 2D & 3D shooter, platform, sports and action/adventure games. Plus it sold the most game consoles of any system released so far. The other two systems pretty much speak for themselves. You know why they are on the list.

Top 3 WORST game consoles.

1) Virtual Boy

2) N-Gage

3) Jaguar (Surprisingly, even the Vectrex, Colecovision and Turbographix were better then this pile of dung. Only great game on the Jaguar was Alien -vs- Predator).

The greatest console of all time will always be the Intellivision. Most of you youngsters weren't even born when it hit the market and so can not be blamed for not appreciating what was truly a marvel of video gaming greatness it was. glcm1961
