We're talking about consoles that you NEVER owned, so unless you have every single console, there must be one.

For all we know, someone might have owned every single console except the Atari 2600, Virtual Boy, and 3DO. :o

Isn't there even a "best of the rest?" I mean, you haven't owned every console, right? The question was the best one you haven't owned, not if you owned the best systems. I'm not trying to be nitpicky here, I just want to know. Sorry if I'm sounding a bit close-minded.

SNES here. I know the Genesis was good too, but I didn't really get the good games for it (besides Sonic).

Because it lost in sales. It was a fantastic console. I wish I had adopted it first day. That would have been an amazing generation for me.

PS2, too me it wasn't really worth buying one until late 2005, and by then I was just considering getting a ps3, and now I'm considering buying a ps2 if I can find a cheap good one.

Well I guess it has to be one of the Sega consoles, but since I've played most of the genesis quality titles there isn'treally a reason for me to own one. Most of the games were one time play troughs.

Perhaps Dreamcast, yet it doesn't have anygames above "great" games in my eyes that's impossible to find on another platform at this time.

I owned the SNES, or at least used to, so I can rule that out. I also can't say the NES, N64, PS1, GCN, Xbox, or Wii. So, out of what I haven't owned, it's between the Saturn, the Dreamcast, and the PS2. The Saturn sadly had some serious marketing issues here in the States(curse you, Bernie Stolar!), but I owe it it to myself to play Panzer Dragoon Saga(whenever it becomes reasonably priced, and I don't mean Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG, the common Japanese version), Princess Crown, Radiant Silvergun(hey, PZ, how'd this top Baldur's Gate II on your personal "best games ever" list? And do I need to know Japanese to effectively play it?), Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight(that's the Japanese title for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night; there's a Saturn port of it released only in Japan with extra content, but the game sadly wasn't really optimized for the Saturn in much the same way as RE4 wasn't optimized for the PC), Guardian Heroes(doesn't this game support more than two players somehow?), and maybe some other games that I'm not thinking of right now. (I'd mention the Lunar "Complete" remakes, but only the PS1 versions were translated to English. I hear this is all Bernie Stolar's fault.) The PS2 has Okami and Odin Sphere(the latter of which I actually own despite not having a PS2 for some reason; I'd buy Okami too if it weren't for my hopes that they'd release a Wiimake of it), too many JRPGs to count, MGS3, and some more killer apps on the PS1 thanks to backwards compatibility. There would be even more titles if you count the multiplats, though I'd rather play most of those on my Xbox. Finally, the Dreamcast has Power Stone. I've only played it for a short time many years back, but I LOVED it. Also ought to check out Power Stone 2, Segagaga(I hope that translation project finishes up!), and Rent-A-Hero No. 1(speaking of which, how's the Genesis/Mega Drive original?). The Genesis/Mega Drive would probably be just behind those three because of the likes of Streets of Rage(especially the music!)and the remake of Starflight(though it may be a little glitchy and too different for those like myself used to the computer versions). Strap one of those add-ons on top that lets you play Master System games on it, and then I could try adding Ultima IV to that list. (It seems that everyone remotely interested in RPGs MUST play an Ultima game, and IV is a good starting point. The MS version in particular, because it has the nicest graphics and sound-even over the Amiga version!-and also has a much simpler interface.) Finally, the 3DO has a little merit for having enhanced ports of Star Control II(Best. Game. EVER!)and Super Street Fighter II Turbo(not my type of game, but it's apparently a good port with even better music than the arcade version!), as well as being the original platform for Return Fire(a CTF-type game where you take a helicopter, tank, or ASV and blow up enemies and buildings until you find a flag, then send in your fragile-but-fast jeep to go and get the flag). Only problem is, all of those games have versions for other platforms(for instance, UQM is basically the 3DO version of SC2 backported to the PC and a few other platforms, and it's FREE!), so there isn't much point in owning one. (It might have actually been a contender were it not priced at an astronomical 700 US$, though. That's right, 700 US DOLLARS MSRP, unless you count the 3DO Blaster that requires a PC with an ISA slot, which was bound to be even more expensive back then. The PS3 is starting to sound like a much better deal now, isn't it?)

The best of the worst would be the 3DO :? the system I wanted but never got was a MSX, but it's not a console, and when I was going to get one, I learned there are so many versions of it, with many compatibility issues, that I thought it just wasn't worth it.

As for Handhelds, I never owned a GameGear or any version of the GameBoy until the DS, nor Wondersawn, Lynx, TurboExpress etc. the only Handhelds I've owned are a Nomad, Neo*Geo Pocket Color and a DS.

Did you just say Speedball 2? "Ice cream! Ice cream!" No, I owned neither the C64 nor the Amiga, or anything else that wasn't some sort of deriative of the IBM PC. (Partly because I was born in 1990, around the time when PCs stopped sucking for gaming purposes.) I never even played Speedball 2 until recently, thanks to emulation and the Internet. But, you have to give credit to the C64 and the Amiga for being well ahead of their time, no matter what computer you grew up with.

There were many great Computer games before 1990...Heck I still miss my old online text game Solar Realms...I also miss Sega's Zaxxon

Ah, guess I better contribute. I've owned only an SNES, N64, Gamecube, Xbox, Wii, and 360 in addition to a Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance. Clearly you can see that I haven't been gaming for as long as some people. Being 16 years old as of May 31, 2007 certainly has something to do with that.

I would choose the PS2 since I know it's library much better than any other console I don't own.
