Best controller of all time?

I prefer the Dual Shock and his sons and clones.

They used to have a Controller of the year award at multiple web sites and gaming magazines, and every year the Dual Shock won. They stopped around 2004-2005ish, right before this gen started.

I would have to agree, the Dual Shock design is pretty great. I do like the GC and 360 controllers as well.

The Wii's controllers and extensions are odd...When we look at the $40 Wii Mote, do you add the $20 nunchuck, $20 Classic controller and $20Motion Plus to the controller?

Although that makes the controller Wii Complete Controller $100, I suppose that might be considered win.

The Wii's Complete Controller is actually pretty pricey when you do the math. Anyone with a complete Wii can actually afford a 360 and PS3, if they really thought about it.

If we're talking about most comfortable, I'll have to go with the 360 controller otherwise the Dual Shock 3 overall simply becuase it's more responsive and offers more features.

PS2 is my favorite controller. It just feels right in the hands.

Am I the only one that absolutely hated the GC controller? I seem to like the DC controller, the 360 is a close second and when I was younger I liked the Dualshock controllers.

overall, the mouse/keyboard is my favorite. Gamepad: gotta be the Dual Shock 2

Wii Remote with Nunchuk is the most comfortable controller. I love the Nunchuk, the Wii remote just fits in your hand, and you can seperate your hands which is acctually pretty cool! The only problems is it has a very limited amount of buttons!

I believe that there is only one controller ever that was able to win a generation single-handedly (oh PUN!).

PS2 ( Dualshock 2) / PS3 (Dualshock 3) those are the best ever.

Why am I seeing so many answers saying they loved the gamecube controller? Is it just becase people are sick of the Wii controller or something and miss the old days of Nintendo?

However, the Gamecube pad has the BEST Analog Sticks - very precise, sensitive, and feel (better grip, imo)

It's kinda funny how the D-pad actually keeps both the 360/Gamecube controller from being the best controller of all time in my eyes. I guess I'll go with the DualShock 2 Analog controller.
