The costume design of Velvet from Odin Sphere looks cool but I wouldn't say that it's the best costume design ever.

My vote goes to Mario....

Its stylish and functional, how many outfits can make you fly and deflect enemies with your tail. Sign me up for that outfit.

I like the design for Velvet's clothes.

But i think Granada Espada is one of the few games that made me stop and appreciate the clothing style more. While Odin Sphere and Granada Espada have very, very different styles, im still a bit more partial to GE.

Several days ago I watched my friend fight Belial and Beldor with Velvet and now I want the game. He did say she was the "worst" character in the game though. Guess the outfit makes up fo that then. ;)

Vaan is a fictional character, therefore he has no soul.

I deprive him of having an opinion.

Because the character that the TC posted about IS wearing stockings, while the pictures that we provided saying may have been inspiration, neither of the characters there are wearing stockings.

Someone else here actually played it? Cool.

With that said I agree to the extent of the amount of costumes available attribute to how beutiful the game is. If anyones wondering here's a screen I made whilst in-game.

Or maybe we should post every girl wearing a red dress

She has a gypsy style, she's wearing stockings, and it's covered just enough that you just about can't see the undergarments. It's a real tease.

Half-Naked anime girl that does worlds to differentiate herself from other half-naked anime girls.

Yours is just a ringwraith Nazgul wannabe that we seen too many times. Have you seen the God of War concept art? They had like 10 drawings that look like yours but they opt for the bald, armorless Kratos because the rest were too generic.

By the logic of originality = quality, this must be the greatest art sty|e ever:

Why do you think the design is so overused? Because it's brilliant. It perfectly represents power, fear, and mystery to the highest degree. A costume's design should reflect the wearer, and I believe this costume fulfills that need. What do I see when I look at this little girl? The standard randomly-generation, half-naked heroine as seen in nearly all JRPGs. It's not even a unique design, as it clearly takes Red Ridding Hood and throws in a bit of magic.

By limiting yourself to a single point, your logic fails so hard that I doubt that kind of logic can ever figure out anything that is nearly decent. What I see in that picture is Nazgul wannabe which Tolkien already described for you and someone wants his Nazgul wannabe to be as emo as the Ringwraiths. If you want carbon copies of art, draw a couple of stickmen, I bet you'll admire them.

Of course you haven't even played the game yet you think you know the character. What failings have come upon SW.

He's not claiming to know the character, he's just explaining what that costume represents. I also see the typical feeble-looking half naked anime lolita, tacked on with some vague, tantalizing reference to an innocent concept (i.e Red Riding Hood).

I also prefer that "Nazgul wannabe," as you describe it. The design is no more generic than the character you posted. They're both variations of ludicrously overdone concepts, but at least the "Nazgul" doesn't make me sick to my stomach.

Go and find me another one that looks like this. Those two above aren't even close except by looking red. The story behind the costume is needed to know before judgement, but since you seem to rather ignore the story, I'll let it off since it's pointless to explain it to ignorance. Even the Nazgul needs its designed explained before you can appreciate it.

Judging by your avatar, I hope you enjoy your storyless Wii minigames.

Gee, do ya really think they came up with the story first and then the costume? The character concept was made to draw in horny anime fanboys first. Whatever story increments they made to support it came afterwards, to allow them to save face in front of most people, who understand their blatant marketing.

Yes, maybe that hood/wizard hat thing was based off the storyline somehow, but they could've just as easily gone without the lingerie or that annoying brainless stare that girls in anime have 80% of the time.

Kind of off topic, but I got really pissed at this game and hastly sent it back to Gamefly. I was at the end of the second character and couldn't beat the Axe dude.

:(

Oh well, I'll get it again maybe in the future. But I was starting to get fed up with the unfairness of the bosses.

So what would you rather have? Mario's plumber suit? Link's green fairy uniform? Another generic man in suit Master Chief? The box cover of Crysis looks really bad if you didn't know his suit was so badass.

Or how about MGS2's cover? You'd say, oh gee it's just a guy holding a gun. Typical.

See how much failing your logic goes? It's like King Leonidas just kicked it down that bottomless pit.

Edit: Here's why Odin Sphere's art is exceptional. This character sprite of Odin just shows the imagination.

If Odin is that little guy, I can't even make him out. Is that a purple beak?

Anyway, my point is that that girl's suit is quite generic and uninspired. Our opinions might differ on how "good" it looks, but there is no way it can be considered the best costume design, due to, if nothing else, its lack of originality. It's like they got all creative with the headpiece, then just said "screw it" and slapped some black silky lingerie on the rest of her.

The ignorance is astounding, especially that Odin comment. Only a blind person cannot see that Odin is the massive being of power with a disproportionate body which is awesome looking.

Velvet's costume is extremely unique. You had yet to show me something like it. You fail because of it.

Wow, we haven't all played Odin Sphere. Incredible.

In fact, yes, I like Odin's costume. It's much better than the girl's, and his entire look is much more original.

You want to see something that looks like her? Google "Bible Black."

Hey look! I found her outfit! Just add an oversized red hood and you're set!

And this is?

Geez, what school did you go to, buddy?

Also, are you claiming that school girl uniforms are original?
