Best ending so far this gen?

What do you believe is the best ending so far in this generation?

For my picks, I would have to say either Mass Effect or No More Heroes (Real Ending)

Mass Effect had an awesome ending! I also really like Heavenly Swords ending, the game as a whole did a great job conveying a super cinematic experience.Gesyma

I agree with Heavenly Sword (haven't played ME). That final battle was fantastic as was how the story wrapped up.

I think the real discussion here is which one of mass effects endings was better ;)

I have not beaten DMC4 yet but from what I have seen so far the ending is going to be flat out superb.

dunno about bioshock probably depends on the ending you got. i hated the one i got.

I haven't played Mass Effect yet, so I have to go with Portal.

Runner up would be Halo 3 for me.

Like the fact that it was a cliff hanger that would force us to buy the sequels? I know it's a planned trilogy, but bioware could have spared us at least a few more details on... them.

No, it wasn't the cliffhanger. I knew it was going to be a cliffhanger. I like cliffhangers, especially if done well. The one in ME was alright.

It was more the lack of details and just the way it ended. Everything leading up to the end was great.

Half life 2 episode 2 ending was ...... I am cryng jut thinking about it :cry: that was nothing but superb. COD4 was great too.amorbis1001

I really liked the action packed ending in CoD4....light spoiler here, but its the slow motion part where you get the pistol....nuff said.eddy_of_york

I loved the single player story, but I was a bit dissapointed with the lack of a cutscene at the end of the game. I love those things. The actual ending that you play is pretty good though.

Mass Effect was a great game and had some great moments, but the ending was kind of lackluster. The entire story in COD4 was pretty generic to me, but I loved the game.

HL2 had a great ending though. Still, the best ending this gen goes to Heavenly Sword. The boss fight in Uncharted is somewhat anti-climatic but the conclusion (and plot twist) of the story is also one of the best this gen.
