Best Experience this gen?

name only one game! Which game from this generation was the best experience for you this generation. The one game that blew you away. This generation is full of great games, but only name the best.

Mine would have to be Oblivion, i was never a fan of a rpg game till i played this one. Everything was memorable about it. What is yours?

Not to sound rude, but I believe there was a thread of this type about two days ago on here. But in any case, I'd have to say Oblivion, too. A close second would be Bioshock, but my number one experience this generation would have to be Oblivion. It's an amazing game; one of the most epic games of its type to date.

thats not fair. My favorite game this gen so far and my favorite experience is still Halo 3.

However it didnt wow me. It more or less was what i expected Halo greatness, all the loose ends being finished(with some new ones added), some new mechanics to the gameplay that i enjoy, and the forge stuff is addictive. but i wasnt wowed. its just my favorite game this genjg4xchamp

Can't decide between Uncharted & Crysis!

When I first started playing Oblivion.

I was riding through a forest with a horse and I just thought "Wow, I can't believe I'm finally playing this..."

sorry but I can't list jsut one bioshock/prime 3/galaxy and viva pinata (serioulsy i love this game) have all just blown me away. they all had something about them that makes me want to play them over and over again. viva pinata i have 4 different gardens that i constantly re arange. and if you look at them from birds eye view i have faces and designs in them, bioshock i love going through and figuring out new traps and ways to kill enemies, prime 3 i just love looking at the art of the game. i constantly have to stop and take a screen shot because i am so amazed at the detail retro put into the game. and galaxy has stolen all my gaming time since its release. i especially love (spoiler alert) when i get the ability to fly. cruising around in free space is just coolmakes me wish nintendo would make a superman game. maybe it would not suck.

if i started in on the psp and ds this list would get really big. there have just been a lot of amazing games this gen. i almost feel like i am back in the snes days again.

I'm now more then half way through SMG, and i'm loving it a helluva lot! I also had some great times with Gears online.

But, nothing has topped Twilight Princess for me. My best gaming experience ever.

I have to name 3 games that really blew me away on for each system I own 360-Earth Defense Force 2017 one of my favorite 360 game its awesome Wii-Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 one of the best fighting games ever DS-Pokemon Diamond blew me away it made an awesome series a lot bettermurat8

I suppose I have a bias since I didn't like Halo 2, either. Combat Evoled was a good game (not as amazing as the hype, but it was good). I just think that with all the games that have actually gone out of their way to do new things, Halo 3 shouldn't be the best experience of the year, because it did the exact same thing the last two, last-gen games did.

Also, on a side note, why do these threads keep popping up? We're going into our second and third year with this generation. Isn't asking about the best experience this gen a bit premature? That's like asking what your favorite memory is with your 2-year old child.jalexbrown

its gonna have to be zelda tp. however ive played very few next-gen games (MP3, galaxy, HL2, still playing bioshock) so by christmass i hopw i'll have a new fave.samusarmada

Indeed, there is a lot of good stuff coming soon, but I don't think anything we're getting ready to see in the coming year will define these shiny new consoles we have. I think every game we're getting this year will be surpassed at some point by a better game (assuming the developers actually get creative for a change). If the developers keep putting in their current amount of effort, we'll see more games and less good ones, but if the developers decide to step it up a notch, we'll see less games but more good ones.

Remember, the more games there are that come out, there more bad games there are that come out.

HL 2 Episode 2.

That game was seriously as good as HL1. And well.. 4-5 hours long.

Bioshock was one of those games where you truely felt like the hardware was used to make something creative. They did things that would've been hard to do before. I love the way you can shock the water and anyone standing in the water will be shocked. That's so cool and it's a concept I've never seen other games use in the same way. I've not seen any other game use the environment as a weapon like Bioshock does. If most first-person shooter games want to use the environment as a weapon, they insert random explosive barrels. Bioshock one-uped the whole deal by using the environment in realistic ways.
