MORTAL KOMBAT

This series if mostly famous for it's awesome brutality and is not shy of showing the red stuff. My favourite out of all of 'em.

STREET FIGHTER

The original fighter and the most favoured generally, Street Fighter is the god father of beating people up for fun.

Tekken

Tekken was Sony's answer to Street Fighter, but had a more serious tone (though not much more) and many argue it is better than Streeties.

DEAD OR ALIVE

The game reknowned for it's bouncy physic (ahem) and not much else. Okay it actually is fun and has good fighting but ITS KNOWN for the physics of certain parts of the female body.

SOUL CALIBER

Not much to say really. It had weapons and stuff. This one is more niche than all the others but still is loved by many

Guilty Gear, followed closely by BlazBlue.

Why do you say the DOA description that the game is known for its "Bounciness"

Why not say something which actually makes DOA unique, like the fact it has a Counter system.

Tekken then Blazblue for me.

Favorite: Mortal Kombat

Extremely underrated Favorite: Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3. Not the Tenkaichi one. The original Budokai 3. Really, really fun even if you don't like Dragon Ball Z

The best out of that list is Street Fighter.

Soul Calibur. I played the first one to death and the other games were not as good, but still pretty fun.

Either way, Virtua Fighter is the only series that hasn't deteriorated in quality over time. And perhaps Guilty Gear and Marvel vs. Capcom.

I like Tekken, but since I live in America nobody seems to play it. Probably because you have to learn more than one attack to be able to win..

So I play Street Fighter, my next favorite fighter.

I only play Clayfighter, tournament rules.

I like Soulcalibur, mostly because it's easy to play if you don't want to learn inputs. Good characters too. [/spoiler]

Too young of a franchise to even be considered. But I can see why people gravitates towards it
