Hello,
so far best of 2023? what are they?
for me

Have not played Starfield yet.
waiting for Alan wake 2 and Space marine 2 for rest of the year.
so friends what are the best of 2023 so far?
RE4 remake by far.
Baldur's Gate 3 for me. I don't like that type of combat but the rest of the game is so good that it doesn't matter to me.
BG3 and TOTK for me. They're the highest rated games of the year, and my personal favourites so far.
I normally don't let remakes take the first spot no matter how much I enjoy them (other wise The Last of Us would be game of the generation 3 times lol)
But I never played the original RE4 and Capcom did make changes to it so RE4R was a completely fresh and new experience for me.
That said:
Zelda: TOTK could probably place anywhere between #3-5 or not make my list at all. Not tried it yet.
Not my kind of game, but Baulders Gate 3.
I agree with this vintage lemming.
The game is so far ahead of its competition that comparing to ANYTHING ELSE should be considered as trolling.
If you are counting only new I.P.s than its Star field of course, only salty Xbox haters would say otherwise! 🙅
Who cares if the IP is new or old? Plus, its Badthesda. It could be a new IP in 2050, and it'll still play like Oblivion from 2006🤡
@fedor: Asked this before, but what on Earth is the attraction with sea of stars? It’s painfully boring, with absolutely no redeeming features. Is the attraction that it resembles a 30 year old game?

When you make statements like this it makes me wonder why you played the game in the first place. You also said in your other post you don't like turn based combat or the pixel art which only adds to the confusion. But to answer your question: Great soundtrack, fun battle system, engaging story, good puzzles, I love the art style etc...
@fedor: Games like Sea of Stars and Hi-fi rush are indie titles they are rated differently than Huge AAA titles!
Oh you're adding another qualifier now? So NOW it needs to be a new IP AND a AAA release... Anything to get Starfield an award huh? LMAO
For me, it's easy. BG3.
Runner up for now would be FFXVI, (but that could change since there's still a few bangers on my play list later this year).
BG3 is my top pick this year, but I'm currently really digging Starfield and enjoyed Hogwarts Legacy earlier this year when I played it.
I've got my eyes on Space Marine 2, Lies of P, and LOTR Return to Moria for the rest of the year.
I don't care about awards, but BG3 is the best game I've played so far this year. Tears 2nd. I have yet to play Sea of Stars, but I'm still playing BG3.
For me in 2023 are:
Runners up: Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Starfield, & Armored Core 6.
I'm playing through AC6 as we speak. Game is complete dog sh*t.
Literally took a game from 2013 and slapped a 6 in the title.
@theam0g: I've noticed that you shit on everything that isn't an MS exclusive. I deserve an explanation.
@last_lap: Looks like we're the only ones picking Remnant 2. Didn't even make the top 5 for some. I can't take anyone on here seriously anymore. I'm 14 hours into the game and hooked.
@fedor: I just thought that a simple, highly reviewed turn based rpg would be fun. The dialogue boxes irritated me so much, I found myself mashing the fast forward button as if it were track and field.
Of course I get that it will appeal to some gamers, just puzzled why it reviewed so well.
@joshrmeyer: I bought Remnant on the 8th of August, and by 25th I had 140hrs in it.
I was getting up half an hour early every morning to play it, I have an hour for lunch, so I would go home and play it for 30 mins. And staying up till midnight playing it, to say I was hooked is an understatement.
Best game of the year easily for me, I don't think Forza can match it for me., that's saying something. As for the others here, well everyone has different taste, but you can see that they pretty much mirror each other, popular casual picks.
Tag me in the lounge sometimes, and let me know how your progress is. I have exactly 100 rings, all the archetypes bar one (I know how to get it) about 40 Amulets. 30 traits (it's disappointing that you can only spend 65 points in the game) about 10 hearts, most of the mods, and about 95% of the weapons.
@last_lap: Geez, yeah I don't have that much time. Been putting in a few hours here and there. My buddy's getting it soon, so I'll be doing some co-op also. Hopefully DLC is coming soon.

I work 6 days a week, every week, and have 2 kids. I was burning the midnight oil.
I've burnt myself out on it, will get back to it in a couple of months.
@ghosts4ever:
I have no order for those, through.
Who will win? IDK:
Saying something like "<insert game here> by far" is ridiculous. There are a lot of GOTY contenders this year. I don't see any clear-cut, standout titles. I thought that would be Starfield, but thanks to review bombs by Game Spot and IGN, the waters are now muddy.
