Best game story of the decade?

My vote goes to Vice City. The 80's setting, voice acting (Ray Liotta was great) and the characters all help to an already great story. To me Tommy is the best and most believeble protaganist in a GTA game ever. He is a real gangster. You build a strong relationship with Lance Vance and it doesn't seem to bother Tommy when he kills Vance. I love the rise to power and there is so much unexpected betrayel. It's the best GTA game imo.

Planescape:Torment. Not this decade, but it doesnt matter as no game has even come close.

It has an 800,000 word count. Equivalent to the first 6 harry potter books. And every word of it is awesome.

Majora's Mask (Even though it came in 2000)

Even fans of the game don't give much credit to its plot, which was told beautifully, helping push the envelope towards the "Games as art" debate.

• And i can't ignore Vice City's story, because i love Scarface, and the rise to power of Tommy Vercetti.

Now of all times, its both Xenogears (the best JRPG) and Planescape Torment (the best WRPG).

Mass Effect 1. At least it´s the story that wowed me the most.

mafia 2 was a better mob story imo.

i would have to say KOTOR

Mass Effect, Snake Eater, Alan Wake, Assassin's Creed, Red Dead Redemption and KOTOR are the ones that come to mind off the top of my head. Overall though, it's really too close to call.

I feel like so many great stories came out in this decade, so it's hard for me to choose just one so I'll name five.

Odin Sphere
Vampire the masquerade:bloodlines
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories(Didn't want to name the usual Silent Hill 2 :P)
Eternal Sonata(Before anyone craps on this game, there's a certain reason why I liked it so much if you wanna know why you can just ask, and yeah I'm probably overrating it because I recently beat it.)

Mass effect and Alan Wake get my vote

I'd have to say KOTOR. Recently picked it up again for PC in the $2 Steam sale, I forgot how good the story was.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Gives me a reason to stomp goombas and then stays out of my way. Perfect

The Metal Gears of this decade, Alan Wake and Heavy Rain are the best stories i have played...

Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4.

Fahrenheit had a very good story.
