Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was an amazing game and I've been itching to play it again. Yet, I may have to go with Mass Effect as best game of this generation thus far. Halo 3 is a great title, yet it wasn't revolutionary enough to me as we had the first two in the trilogy last generation.
Super Mario Galaxy is the most fun I had this gen. Such a well polished, beautiful looking game that really made up for the disappointing Sunshine.mo0ksi

I'm 18, and I played and enjoyed Galaxy, which received GOTY in the same year your wonderful Halo 3 was released.. What's your point? There are plenty of 10 year olds playing Halo 3 on Live, you might be one of them. :|

How is it self ownage? Even though it's rated M, it's a well-known fact that there are plenty of pre-teens playing Halo 3 on Live who say a bunch of stuff their parents probably wouldn't want them saying in real life. Are you seriously trying to deny this?

I wish the console versions hadn't been cancelled. :( I was really looking forward to being able to finally play it.
I think theyre developing a sequel that will be for PC, 360 and PS3. The reason they cancelled the port was because financially it made more sense to create one game for 3 platforms at the same time. I could be wrong. But yeah I was in the same boat as you before I bought my PC. It was the first game I bought and it exceeded my expectations.
Do you have any idea of what I said? Or did you just quote the wrong person?

You stated that you knew more people who liked Gears of War and Halo, correct? Perhaps that is the case in the USA (or wherever you live); but worldwide, SMG beat GeoW in sales and Halo 3 just barely beat SMG. Sales generally show a postive correlation with popularity.

I stated that I knew more KIDS that liked Halo 3/Gears than SMG while quoting someone who was calling SMG a game for little kids.
Best game of this gen: Super Mario Galaxy, runner ups are Portal, Bioshock, and Halo 3 Best game of last gen: Halo: Combat Evolved, runner ups are Half-Life 2, The Wind Waker, and Halo 2 Best game of last last gen: Ocarina of Time (also the best game ever), runner ups are Half-Life, Gran Turismo 2, and Pokemon Red/Blue Just an FYI, I hear a LOT of good things about MGS, but I've never played it, so don't get all mad at me for not including it.

The one thing I just have a problem with is that console gamers are getting the sequel while the majority may have not have played the original, and therefore get confused by the story. It's still good to see that a Witcher game will be coming to consoles at least.
