Best Invading Force Award

I've been thinking about this for a while guys, what Alien/Mutant race you think is the coolest out of all the video games out there??

We have (Alphabetically)

The Chimera (Resistance -PS3)

The Combine (Half Life - PC/PS3/360)

The Convenant (Halo - Xbox 360)

The Helghast (Killzone - PS3)

The Locust Horde (Gears of War - Xbox 360)

Combine in first. Chimera and Locust tied for second. Covenant in fourth. Helghast dead last.pyromaniac223

I actually thought of including the Zerg, but the poll only had space for 5 options and sadly the Zerg came last (alphabetically) so it was left out. Plus, if I took out one of those up there, everybody would've said I'm kinda biased against certain console for leaving "X" race out. But I do acknowledge that race as one of the most badass invading forces out there.

I'm aware of that but tbh I never heard all that about being the Halo killer before KZ2. Still, my point remains the same :P

Easily the combine. They way it uses the planet against itself, and leeches the resources, while keeping those left at bay.

Things like Synths and modified humans (for various reasons - e.g. Stalkers) is great, as is Combine architecture.

None of the other titles have something as imposing as the symbolic citadel that 'eats' cities as it grows outwards.

They are much more compelling than the lot combined tbh.

I do like the the Covenant, in that they are essentially a coalition bound by extreme religious views, and the Locust as a the original inhabitants of their planet, and far more civilised - to the degree where you could argue they are the good guys in GeoW.

I think it's because not many people played the original KZ, but the Helghast is a great force. Who knows?? I might as well get rid of them and include the Zerg, although it looks like it wouldn't make that much of a difference because the Combine seems to be ruling here.

Great thread amigo!! I voted for the Chimera.... oh and.....I wouldn't count KZ2 since it hasn't been released! :)

Why are The Helghast on that list? IIRC Killzone 2 the force the player is (human? ) is the invading force. So having their home planet invaded (and not really doing any invading from what it looks like), makes them a poor choice for best invading force.

Anyways I would have to say the Combine followed by the Covenant.

Halos would be last for me, One of the main reasons I could never get into the game. I thought the enemies were so silly and childish.
