JRPG is a genre loved by "people". This year has been another year in a long line of years culminating into next year, but taking into account this year, what was the best JRPG experience?

Im not sure weve really had a good one to my knowledge. Would be cool to hear somes picks. Ive been playing Xenoblade Chronicles and it released on 3DS this year, but its a few years old since it released on Wii originally. Its one of my tops of all time though.
Bloodborne and Dark Souls II... guessing, haven't played them myself.
Anyhow, I just picked up Devil Survivor 2 which I'll start playing shortly, and Dark Souls II which I'll start playing once I can yank myself away from Battlefront. And fingers crossed that FF Type-0 gets a digital sale next week. I wanted to try it but wasn't going to pay $60 because they leveraged that price with the FFXV demo.
@lamprey263: Its not fair with them, i dont like that i cant pick Zelda. I consider them to be action-adventure just like Zelda is.
@charizard1605: Hows the story in Stella Glow? Its sad to hear this may be their last game together.

It starts off super cliche, but it gets better with time.
@charizard1605: It sounded interesting with the whole uniting the witches to fight the big evil witch. Sounded like a this land is cursed with war and evil has rose from its ashes.
The highly respect journalism website Kotaku has deemed tales of legend something or another the best; actually they have went as far as declare it best of the best decade, so far.

It's worth noting: developers sleep with them, as they went to college together and meet up as self congratulatory party's with other hipsters who are actually PR under the guise of journalists.
So, take from that factually based fact what you will.
I was so JRPG-starved lately that I purchased FF X / X-2 HD Remake on PS4 for the full price. Haven't played any of those games, so I'm having a good time. Therefore for the lack of better option I vote for FF X / X-2 HD Remake as the best JRPG of the year.
//disclaimer: Bloodborne is not a JRPG
If stuff like Bloodborne and the 'Souls' games qualify as a JRPG's, then I don't even know what the **** the criteria is anymore.
BloodBorne IS a JRPG. Even if you think only games with manga/anime influences are JRPGs then it still would be considered a JRPG. Dark Souls and BloodBorne are inspired from Berserk, a manga, Miyazaki himself says so. Gamers nowadays are extremely ignorant about manga and anime which is why they think its just moe stuff. Its not.
@BlbecekBobecek: You dont have a 3DS? They got some good ones bout every year.
Sadly nope, I dont play on handhelds at al...

Sinner!
All the big ones come next year. I don't consider Bloodborne a JRPG at all. Next year we'll have FFXV, Persona 5, Star Ocean 5, Nier 2 and a ton of other stuff. You asked in the wrong year, which isn't your fault but hey ho.
Depends. If Fallout counts, then i vote for Fallout 4. But this isn't much of an rpg so its between TW3 and Bloodborne. I'm nowhere near done with TW3 but i enjoyed BB more than what's offered in TW3. At the same time i feel like TW3 has significantly more effort put into it (so huge, tons of quality dialogues, best side quests i've seen in an open world game etc). For that reason i gotta vote for TW3 even tho i enjoyed BB more.
edit: well, fk, this thread is about jrpg's and not rpg's........................ I don't give a royal fox shit about JRPG'S!!! now that sounded gangsta. If BB is considered a jrpg then of course that takes the crown.
