So awezome.

IVe already lost a perfectly good bag of gummy bears by throwing them at my wall in rage for them killing Rare, please don't make things worse.
I thought this was a serious thread and i was geniunly intrigued...I am dissapoint.sboyer2Everybody's Dissapointed..... with Microsoft.
The biggest loser: The Videogame. Only on Kinect :roll:Literally not one non-casual game. Not one.
Come on.

What's funny to me, is that people are disappointed at this. What did you expect to happen with Kinect? Like honestly, if you didn't know it was going to go full on for the casual market, you're stupid.Literally not one non-casual game. Not one.

Good thing I didn't let my 360 see this. Some things cannot be unseen. Hopefully Crysis 2, me3, geow3, etc. can counteract this amount of fail. *lays on ground vomiting in mouth
Only the tears of Chuck Norris can save us now.

I figured that since it was being run by both Rare and Lionhead studios we'd get at least SOMETHING out of it. :|
you know its sad when the sonic Rider's sequel is the most "hardcore" game on this list.

The second Rare changed their logo, I knew something was wrong. I definitely see you expecting something from Lionhead however. He did show off that impressive Milo demo last E3. They are at least releasing Fable 3, so it isn't like they abandoned their hardcore fanbase.Wow Ms really? Dang I'm mad I missed this confrence. This type of fail is too bad to miss. I mean I knowthat Kinectmore catered to casuals but come on. Only the most braindead of non gamers will pick this crap up.
Motion gaming has so much potential, why must it go unrealized again and again. The head of Quantic Dream has a big head and annoys me to no end with some of his comments, but I am begging for him to make one of his interactive movies using one of these technologies, since I trust he'll understand better than many developers that interactive movement can be immersive and expressive, even sacrificing the minor amount of tactile sensation that comes with button pressing. Pushing curtains aside with your hands only to have something jump out at you in a survival horror game would be better than pressing an A button at context sensitive moments, that can't just be my opinion can it? We're on the brink of 3D gaming, we have 1:1 motion control, now give people a reason to move that is the least bit intriguing even if it is cliche, give me the decision of whether to drop an bad person from a 100 story building or do the ethical thing and pull him up, that is a scenario that would be more interesting with a gripping motion and releasing motion than a context sensitive button.
That hand that entered the world in that Kinetimals or whatever it was called can be used to manipulate a gameworld in a thousand different ways, and not just the obvious ones like grasping something. The geometry of the world itself could be grabbed and manipulated, and user created content is limited only by the imagination of the rule sets the developers could impose.
Harmonix and Konami making a dance games makes perfect sense, they should do that and it clearly suits their vision. Fitness games are more fun than fitness tapes as long as they work. There's a definite audience for the sports\party\casual games and they can be very fun, I for one anticipate having quite a bit of fun with Rare's game. However, for the love of god there is sooooo much untapped potential here. It makes me wonder, if tomorrow the technology to existed to make perfect virtual reality a reality, with fully 3D worlds and complete 100% precise control over the world (holodec stuff, you know) if all we would see are uninspired party apps, logic puzzle games, and fun little healthy ways to make people active without having to go outside.
And thats the worst part, untapped potential. Honestly they have bloody Molenyx right there. They could remake Black and White and that alone would already by an amazing experience (one that is a just a perfect fit for kinetc). Thats just the tip of the iceberg too. There is so much that can be done here with strategy games, adventure games, qte's (heavy rain). There can be new ways of doing in game conversations, new ways to open a door or reload a gun (again these are not even intense uses of what is essentially a device that is limited by imagination).Motion gaming has so much potential, why must it go unrealized again and again. I just gotta fix these complete inaccuracies. The Elite as it stands is $300. The new model, available this week will be the same price and include a headset and built in wifi. Also, I dont know where you live but controllers arent $60...SO, take out about $230 and the $800 fro the TV (seriously?)....Or, you could just get the core at $150 and leave it at that.oh i see a bunch of wii wanna be titles , , ,

Like honestly, if you didn't know it was going to go full on for the casual market, you're stupid. The WiiMore didn't mean no hardcore games. The Move won't (hopefully). Not one single game to actually show off this tech for a real game? Not one FPS, or fighting game, or RPG? It's not stupid to expect MS to actually show something with their "change games forever" speel. Right now we're not seeing games, we're seeing mini-games, packaged as full games.Literally not one non-casual game. Not one.

You would buy it just to throw it out? :PI want it . . . . in my garbage. Kinectics suckage confirmed. Now, Move, impress me.

[QUOTE="black_tempest"]And to think, I was slightly looking forward to Kinect :(Khadaj32
I don't even like the name "Kinect." They went the exact same way as the Wii. Kinect - connect. Wii - we. We play with others, to connect with others. I preferred Natal, myself.
kinect is also short for kinetic...Its a much more clever name than the rest came up with. Too bad they have the same games. Please Log In to post.
