My vote is for The Mark of Kri. I HATED that game gameplaywise, but in terms of art direction and cutscenes, it blew me away and left an everlasting impression on what I should come to expect from a game that relys on art direction for it's looks. Cutscenes were painted out and colored as they were told, and the ingame look was excellent. The gameplay sucked, but it's art direction was excellent.
