What game do you think has the best music?

i seriously can't think of any.

The Halo series. Original scores are always better than licensed soundtracks, and Marty is a beast.

F-Zero X
Majora's Mask
Not Halo

... Phoenix Wright also deserves an honourable mention.

I've just had a look through my 4 GB game music MP3 collection on my PC, and I honestly can't decide.

Final fantasy allways has great music thanks to the genius of Nubuo. But which song would you pick. One winged angel is a work of art, and Otherworld Rocks!!!! but then there is the slower music.

And then we move on from FF. Halo has a wonderfull theme tune. The MGS games have allways had a great sound track. Onimusha, zelda. Or some of the classic games with quirky memorable music that you just can't help but smile to like bubble bobble, lemmings, mario. *Head explodes*

Shadow of the Beast 2 on the AMIGA! Amiga was the king of music in its day.

All the Castlevania, best of the best is SOTN.

Second place is TEKKEN series, it has alot of great music.

Halo series is amazing.

MGS series, what can I say more.

FF series, memorable always.

Uncharted has a wonderful soundtrack.

The End Credit song for Portal makes that game own everything else. That song is AWESOME.

I thought Super Paper Mario had some really interesting music as well. From those interesting techno beats in the Space Zone level, to the dark classical music in Count Bleck's Castle, that game had some very good atmospheric music.

Chrono Trigger.

The following are my personal favorite in no particular order

1. Shenmue 2
2. Syberia 2
3. Beyond Good and Evil

Yup, those are the ones that have really stood out to me the most.

I loved Freedom Fighters score by Jesper Kyd. FFVII. Heavenly Sword and Uncharted take the cake for recent games, imo. They fit the subject matter perfectly.

Diablo was awesome back in the day.

For licensed soundtracks, all the GTA's are contenders, as are Midnight Club's.

World of Warcraft easily, I don't see how anyone who has played WoW can say otherwise, every diferent zone has an amazingly well composed piece of music, it always sets the tone just right for the zones theme, and the "main menu" music is cool =PEddie-Vedder

Agreed. For some reason I always forget to include MMO's when I think about great music. WoW's music is incredible. I haven't played in 4 or 5 months and I could easily hum the Ironforge, Orgrimmar, Stormwind themes. Warcraft 2 gets a definite mention. I used to actually pop the CD-ROM into my player and listen to it. Speaking of which, the original Quake soundtrack is awesome too. Trent Reznor from NIN did it and it owns.

What is with you and Twilight Princess? You mention it in every thread.

As much as I love the soundtrack to Psychonauts, it and every other game ain't got s*** on Vice City or San Andreas. There's nothing like:

• running down pedestrians to Flock of Seagulls "I Ran (So Far Away)"
• delivering pizza's to Spandau Ballet's "Gold",
• drive-by's to Ice Cube's "It Was a Good Day" or Compton's Most Wanted's "Hood Took Me Under",
• cruising to War's "Low Rider",
• driving countryside to America's "Horse With No Name" by day, The Who's "Eminence Front" by night.
• etc.

What the hell people? Command and Conquer all the way (up till Generals) with Frank Klepaki (sp?) Hell March ftw
