What game has the best online community?

I dont mean the game with the most people playing, the most popular or the best looking online game.

I want to know what game has the best following of players online that work together, are not screaming 24-7,etc...

Halo3? COD? Team Fortress2? Resistance2? Warhawk? GRAW2? Counterstrike Source? Gears2? Left4Dead?

I personally think Team Fortress 2 on PC has the best community. Followed by Left4Dead, Shadowrun and Counterstrike Source.

I think that World of Warcraft has a pretty good online community, probably the best of any online game I've played (next to CS). Of course, this is assuming you are only playing Horde...

Although I will admit I quit a long time ago, one of the reasons being that most of the people on there were dicks. Everquest had a much better online community back in the day than WoW ever did.

There really aren't any. People always say that the people that PC game are more mature than the twelve year olds on XBox Live, but they really aren't. :? You always get a good batch of people every now and then, however.

I agree. I've only been playing this game for about 2 weeks but I think that the crowd of people playing is pretty mature compared to some other games ive played (runescape comes to mind :?.) I can't tell you how many times i hear stories about people being noobs or just real buttheads online. I really haven't found much of that here:)

I'd say that all online communities have d-bags. But RSV2 by far has the least. I think its because you can't run and gun in that game and it takes patience and skill.

And it requires constant comm. to beat the other team handedly. next would be CSS which has provided me with such great experience as well for a good 3 years.

Sad day when the server i played on went dead...

TF2 seems to have a pretty good community. Its probably because the game doesn't take itself seriously and its not as competitive.

Company of Heroes. There's so much going on in a ranked match that there's not enough time to act like a tool.

Eh, I ran into a lot of *** holes on WoW, even on my own faction which was the Horde. It depends on the server really. eh I'll have to disagree with you Princeofshapeir..while wow will always have a place in my heart and i think the new expansion is amazing, the community has gone downhill ever since TBC.  Pre-TBC it seemed the community wasn't as bad, its just now lots of people think they're so good and they will rip on random people for no reason.

Also i've noticed it doesn't really differ from server to server, unless your server is overpopulated or underpopulated, they are all the same... but every server will always have those bad apples

I think the best community has to be anything source, especially CS:S

^ your experiances are wrong! :P

no but seriously every game community is going to have its share of jerks its just with css its so varied.  I can join a random server right now and find mods/skins or some kind of content i cant even imagine that other online games wouldnt even bother having, not to mention the list of downloads for css is practically unlimited, but the same goes for most source games

true the wow community is so bad, the majority don't respond if you ask for help, and they just talk crap to each other. It was basically a singleplayer game in my experience. I tried the month trial and the month with the game, and now i've got a 60 day pass, thats still in its box.

Team Fortress 2 or CS 1.6 (Even Source is Good). Both have the strong communities but almost universal skilled players that aren't a bunch of dicks, you will find the rare ones but for the most part the communities are very good for there size.

There is no "best."

There is only the least awful.

Left 4 Dead probably wins that, because its too new to be completely retarded just yet.

t3hTwinky

Strangely that makes a lot of sense. Also, forcing co-op play is going to boost it as well.

During my time on the WOW 10 day trial I enjoyed myself as a loner being a rogue human. But there were times when I enjoyed playing with a small group. A lot of people are okay, but then there are those ****s that tell you to stop stealing kills (although the game pretty much prevents that so they were claiming kills just because it was an enemy that was near them).

WOW was okay, but there is a lot of room for somebody to act like a total bean.

If someone said you were stealing kills as a rogue that person must have been really bad.  He wasn't a hunter by any chance now was he?

Command and Conquer 3 on 360. That's right, the console version (I played the PC version as well). On 360 it's harder to play not only as a team, but it's more difficult to set up a viable strategy (rushing is much harder), which pretty much deterred all of the people who didn't really know what they were doing. That left the community really small but with great players, most of which provided me with an excellent hour long match filled with memorable moments. Basecrawling, mid-late rushing, etc. you saw every tactic in the book being used in those games.

Reading over all of the comments over WoW's community, I just gotta say that I honestly haven't really experienced many @$$holes online. Yeah, people trade chat spam, but to be honest I think it's pretty amusing. My own guild isn't focused on PvP or PvE, and they help me level and quest and we've all made Death Knights together in the new x-pac. I guess it really depends on what server you're playing (Bloodscalp US here) and what faction.

SOCOM has always had an amazing community, probably one of the best.
The community is just a little pissed off right now about the crappyness of every feature in the game.
