Mass Effect?

Too many greats. The game that blew me away this gen was Gears Of War, Loved Bioshock, Mass Effect, Halo 3 and countless others.

I'd have to say Gta IV or Gears of War, Halo 3 not far behind.

for me it has to be halo 3, definitely the most played by far as well.

Well if i had to review the game i would give it a 9.8.. my main problem with reviewing it is that if you give previous games like SMG and SSBB 9.5's theirs not much room for you to review GTA4... In my opinion its better than all the previous games of the generation and while its not without problems it really is a fun game, single and multiplayer.

But to each his own I suppose (oh yeah except the auto lock on pisses me off)

thats your perogative.....everyone else believes otherwise.....and if SSBB is a 9.5 theres no way GTA4 isnt higher than a 9.5. Period. Opinion? Could be....but I believe that statement to be fact in MANY eyes.

Mass Effect, while a good game in itself, doesn't even make it to the top 5. And especially not overall, since its combat system is poorly concieved.

Just proving a point that theres always going to be a group that doesnt like something or someone......but that still doesnt negate the fact that GTA4 is a good game.

i never said it wasnt good, i implied too many people treat it as the greatest thing since sliced bread and expect everyone else to.

yup, also add to that list, forza2, CoD4, STALKER, world in conflict, SMG, the list just goes on and on.

as good as SMG is...its not the greatest game this generation. Its a rather easy game to beat, has no multiplayer.....comparing that to something as expansive as GTA4 + Multiplayer that works well in general just gives it better value.

what wii games DO have multiplayer?

A lot of people probably think it is the best game this gen, just like you think GTA is, noone is right technically but who cares in the end.

I think Super Mario Galaxy and Grand Theft Auto 4 are so matched in quality that it could be a very interesting debate. I'm a GTA fan so I'd vote for that, but that doesn't mean I think its objectively any better than SMG. I still think SMG is a lovely game that deserves major props.

Maybe OT but I don't even know how to lock on in GTA, I always manual aim and then shoot... what is this auto-aim you speak of. It locks on when fighting, but just not when shooting.

I have yet to play GTA4 so I won't count that in my selection:

GTA's gunplay was never the focus. It's the freedom, the scale, the humor, the environments, etc that is the draw.
