Best racing game this gen?

Mario Kart 8 might be the best racing game ever made. It looks gorgeous, has great mechanics, and the track design is second to none. Plus the post launch support was amazing too! It's a really great game, still my favorite on Wii U.

Right now, Mario Kart 8. I love fun racing games with guns and cambos. I don't like boring racing games like DriveClub and Forza.

New GRIP PC game is out, just amazing like Mario Kart 8 but game is not out (early beta yes is out) and soon released with multiplayer then i may vote for GRIP but right now my vote goes to Mario Kart 8.

Maybe even the best racing game of all time.

Forza: Horizon 2, although I still got Dirt Rally lying around somewhere. Has to do a lot to beat Horizon 2 though.

The Crew is also good stuff.

Drive Club wins

You left out Dirt, but all are great.

F6 covers sim, Driveclub covers simcade, MK8 covers arcade, and Grip covers fast arcade.

Also, how do you always somehow manage to pick the worst looking screenshots for all games? Is it like your special power?

Gamespot needs to fix "small" and "large" image thing. I upload and select always "large" image and yet half images goes small even when their original size is same.

Second, after posting OP, i can't edit original post to make pictures larger or smaller. It gives error.

@FreedomFreeLife: Well, you can't edit polls, so as long as you keep making polls, you won't be able to edit OPs. if you made normal threads, you'd be able to edit the post just fine.

As for image compression... man, I got nothing lol.

Best driving game is Drive Club..... Best racing game is Mario Kart.

MK8. its an inconsistent series but when Nintendo get it right its just brilliant. my biggest complaint is that there are no more tracks coming....I WANT MORE!!

dirt rally also looks very good but i haven't played it yet.

Mario Kart 8, I guess, but even that was disappointing and I honestly have not been super impressed with any racing game this generation thus far. I'm still turning to my last gen consoles for racing games.

Edit: I just remembered that Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed is also a current gen game since it was released on the Wii U. I have the Xbox 360 version, but since it is also available on a current gen console, Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed would receive my vote for best racing game this gen.

The game i have the most fun with is PCARS specially with a wheel its racing at its absolute finest and leagues ahead of any other racing game so far this gen.

Forza Horizon 2 and Mario Kart 8 are both amazing.

Driveclub plays like garbage. I only have the free ps+ version, but I couldn't stand what I played.

Never played Grip so can't comment on it but Assetto Corsa should be on the list imo.

Ikr. Shit, I game mostly on PS4, and I know it was trash compared to anything else in that list.

DriveClub is butt, and I'm pretty sick of Mario Kart 8 at this point, but I'll just go with that for now.

I'm not voting for any of them. Mario Kart 8 was the reason I decided not to get a Wii U, what a disappointment. Ugly looking game and absolutely nothing special about it. Mario Kart 7 is way better.

Forza is top quality as always but (since it's simulating reality as always) a bit samey.

Mario Kart 8 is utterly fantastic, one of the very few masterpiece games on WiiU.

Driveclub was laughably bad, and I say that as someone who really digs the Motorstorm series. Terrific memory actually, me and my buddy had a few beers and were playing DC. I remember seeing a driveway with a gate veering off the main road. "Oh cool, a shortcut!" Smash striaght into the gate and bounce off. No damage to either myself, my car or the gate. Lol. Fucking PS2 level. Hell, no, PS2 Burnout had smashable gates and damage. PS1!

Driveclub looks and plays worse than need for speed wiiu. Jesus such a awful game, id ask for money back if it wasnt for free.

The best "driving" game would be Forza Horizon 2, that's not even questionable.

Drive Club. But then, I generally despise racing games. Still. Drive Club is at least realistic in terms of the actual difficulty of handling a fast moving vehicle, while everything else is, well, unrealistic.

Another vote for MK8 from me. Although I have recently been playing Project Cars in VR and it is incredible.

Blasphemy. Fzero plays best on real hardware. Wii VC version has some frame drops and the gamecube cotroller does not suit the game well.

Yep. They're heavy. I've driven many, civilian and sports cars alike. Inertia is a finicky, stubborn bitch at high speeds, as well as to those low to medium.

Have you, my friend, ever driven, say, an FR-S at 100+ miles per? No need to answer. I know you haven't, based on your reply. The closest thing to realistic handling in modern racing games is Drive Club. No question.
