Dragoth in Dungeon Master 2 is the most epic boss battle in RPG I can think of.

Necron - FF9, probably the best villian in the history ofRPG's....lol jkjk
For me it'd personally be the first Saren fight on Virmire in Mass Effect in terms of WRPG
And my favorite JRPG boss battle had to be Albedo in Xenosaga Episode 1.
Tower knight.
Animal-Mother
I loved the desing of Tower Knight but I took him down only using Soul Arrow from the top of the fortification, so I didnt think it was too epic battle. Flamelurker was the most formiddable foe for me in Demons Souls and it took me about 30 attempts before I managed to kill him.
Also, if Valkyria Chronicles counts, Batomys was very epic battle.

The two maneaters were just close to impossible. Flamelurker was tough. But as far as FF goes. Ruby and Emerald weapons. Omega weapon.[QUOTE="Coyful"]Ultimecia... that slag took me an entire day to pummel...DiviniuzYeah as soon as I saw the title, this came to mind Especially if all your characters are level 100. Terrible. Shockwave pulsar was the bane of my existence. Luckily I had Holy's and holy war's
Ultimecia... that slag took me an entire day to pummel...CoyfulJunctions, easy stuff yo. Anyways I'd say Neo Shinryu, or Yiazmat.
Ultimecia... that slag took me an entire day to pummel...Coyful
Probably the hardest RPG boss i have faced.
Anyway for me is:
Lavos - Chrono Trigger, the first JRPG i finished, it might not be that much today but the nostalgic value is huge for me, besides the music is really cool.
KefKa - FFVI, Even if the battle wasn't that hard, the battle felt pretty damn epic.
Sehirot - FFVII, Just like Kefka, the battle isn't that hard, but the summons and the magic made it very epic too.
Eternal Sonata Final Boss - It was kind of cool to see a boss like this one.
And that's all at the top of my head.

Lavos? Im sorry I think Miguel is much much harder. Especially after everything that goes down.[QUOTE="madsnakehhh"][QUOTE="Coyful"]Ultimecia... that slag took me an entire day to pummel...Animal-Mother

About the hardest boss, i was talking about Ultimecia.

Ohh for some reason I thought this was a thread about the hardest RPG bosses. :P[QUOTE="madsnakehhh"][QUOTE="Animal-Mother"] Lavos? Im sorry I think Miguel is much much harder. Especially after everything that goes down.Animal-Mother

Ohh for some reason I thought this was a thread about the hardest RPG bosses. :P nope.... my example is only hard if you lack preperation. Most likely the entire boss roster in Demon's Souls, sans the Flamelurker. That cretin wasted hours of my time.
I would agree with the person that said Red from Pokemon. The battle was just absolutley epic, and very tough.
Trainer Red was one of my favorites. Even though I have many favorites I did like fighting Culex on Super Mario RPG..I would agree with the person that said Red from Pokemon. The battle was just absolutley epic, and very tough.

I enjoyed taking out Giovanni in Pokemon Red, in terms of difficulty (at the time) and feeling relieved to have all of the emblems.
In terms of theme, I like Saren (1st phase) and Darth Sion since words speed up the process of defeating them.
Gotta agree with the OP. Luca Blight. As if my avatar didn't give that way... And since I was mostly unprepared he kicked the crap out of me, a lot. It was great because you actually saw how strong he was without his transforming into a giant crustacean a la most JRPGs of the day. He was just a BAMF, and you knew it. Now I kinda want to play Suikoden II again. Also, Kefka is a close second. Love FFVI.
Game / Boss / Reason
Demon's Souls / Fool's Idol / Unique fight that was fun to figure out. Fought her twice in the same game, if you know what I mean..
Final Fantasy 7 / Ruby and Emerald Weapon / **%@**!*%!**##!
Final Fantasy 8 / Ultimecia / Just when I thought shes dead ...
Final Fantasy 10 / Mt. Gagazet Seymour / Only boss who ever gave me a game-over, for some reason
Final Fantasy 13 / Chapter 9 Barthandelus / First fight that tested my paradigms. Its great how many (including me) died the same way to Destrudo by playing defense
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess / Ganondorf / Amazing fight in so many ways
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story / Final Fight / Timing heaven
Paper Mario: TTYD / Pirate Boss / My badge setup shined in that fight
Pokemon Black/White / Elite Four + Final Boss / Beautifuly done for a Pokemon game
Resident Evil 4 (I consider this game part RPG!) / Salazar / Difficult and unique
Super Mario RPG / Axem Rangers / Don't think I need to explain!
Super Mario RPG / Jinx / Tough to beat the first time, yet so rewarding when you do!
Any boss and mini boss in Demons Souls, best encounters i ever had in a video game yet
Of course many FF7-8-9-10-Lost Odyssey bosses and Zelda bosses are amazing
