I really like the Sims 3, it has a lot more customization available imo. Sims 2 was the turning point of character customization where people got really into modding, but Sims 3 improved on that aspect exponentially. I think you'll find a lot of great mods for the Sims 3 these days, especially since it's the latest version of the game.

And that;s the problem.
Get it for PC or don't bother. Theya re NOT the same game. Sims 3 specially is a continuous, contigious world on PC. On console it's like Sims 2.

I OWN a copy of the Sims 3 for PC. BUT, my PC is not strong enough to run it, nor any other PC-ROM game, so I can either settle for the 360 version or not at all.[QUOTE="Kinthalis"][QUOTE="Kevlar101"] I said "for CONSOLES"..... not for "PC"Kevlar101

What're your system specs? Well since I suck at electronics, I'm gonna have to get someone I know who does know how to go through computer files and find the proper info :P I have street smarts, not book smarts :) But, I once tried to run Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault, and my computer crashed before I even got out of the Prologue  the same goes for the original World Of Warcraft :P My computer is only like.................................................................................................... 7 years old. Awww Crap :P
Sims 3 can easily run on any Intel HD graphics out there. But if his PC is 7 years old and can't run a 2004 game, that's a different matter.Your machine probably has integrated graphics. Sims 3 requires a graphics card of some sort to run.
I haven't played the console versions of the games, but just browsing on metacritic seems to indicate they may not be worth it.

That does not compute.I'll ignore the bash coming my way, because I dared ot point out that the Sims on console sucks compared to the PC version. I know a lot of console fanboys's head exploded when the truth is presented to them in such an obvious way. They prefer to be spoon fed the truth little by little, so as not to destroy their imaginary world.
How do you not know about "electronics". You can't even give us the model/make of your PC? How do you live in the world without basic computer skills? Are you a farmer? Hell, even farmers now a days need basic computer skills.
I'd say if you like the Sims, and want to enjoy the game as it should be - invest in a new PC. You can buy and AMD APU based PC for like $350 or laptop that cna play the game for around $450.
It looks like you're way overdue for a PC upgrade anyway. Might as well pony up the extra $60 it would take over a new PC to make it into a gaming PC.
You're better off playing it on the PC. The controls are just infinitely better and expansions are cheaper in sales.

in this post you are assuming that he has the cash to pony up for a PC...which is pretty flawed, and basic computer skills are can you use word, basic windows, internet not the whole knowing your spec malarky hell my parents dont even know whats inside their PC cept that it has an intel hahahah.
But basic computer skills are word processing and internet to be brutally honest thats the basics of the basics when it comes to computer literacy.
