A perfect example of the whole "if it doesn't get a 7 or above t's a bad game" *though it got A at gamerankings* perspective by poser gamers who make up the majority of the gaming community of today it was an awesome game. The games theme is extremly hard to describe as it didn't focus on traditional anything from an RPG in this vain. Think of it's themes originalty as Killer7 *though the game is really nothing like that* and that should give you an idea of how "different" it is. As for gameplay it's just the same. It has the pacing and storytelling of a JRPG, the roleplaying of a WRPG, exploration of a Dungeon Crawler, and the clue finding of an adventure game. It was truely a work of it, it's just too bad not enough people payed attention just because of its score.

Laugh, go ahead laugh, but this game was no IS awesome. You had your own creature to raise and you explored the forests, caves, mansions, etc. while converting people back to your town. You were in an open world and could pretty much go anywhere after a 2 hours into the game. It was truly a fun experience. The only problem with it are 2 things. One that it was way to hard to have your Digimon evolve normally and Two your Digimon died way to fast. If it wasn't for those two things this game would have been one of the greatest titles of the 32/64 bit era. The sequels however reeked of sheer typical franchise crud cash-ins, but the original however still holds up as a great game today.

Big hit in Japan, big failure in North America. This game did what few games like Metroid, Zelda, and Dragon Quest did. It was actually was a 3D version of it's game. Shinobi was the first game to actually to be a 3D side scroller. It had the pacing of a 2D sidescroller, the simple non-boring combat of a 2D sidescroller, then linearity of a 2D sidescroller, the levels of a 2D sidescroller, the difficulty of a 2D sidescroller, and most of all the fun of a 2D sidescroller. The only thing it didn't have of a 2D sidescroller was the non-annoying camera angles. This game was awesome and it seems to me that Panzer_Zwei is the only person I've ever seen in this thread to give it props.
