GRAW online was good but cant compare to Vegas 2 online, GRAW was like a bad Socom 2... IMO but i didnt play it much, so i cant compare. Vegas was actually more close quarters StealthKnifeI think Vegas was way too much run in gun to consider it a tactical shooter.
I'll say Rainbow Six Vegas 2smokingsbadthats right. the first one had a couple better maps and a better story, but this game is under appreciated

I played the objective game modes so that probably is the reason I think that. Attack and Defend on Calypso Casino all day, lol.
halo isnt near a tacical shooter, its buff powerrangers jumping aroubd shooting each other with colorful suits....
cod4 isnt near tactical either
arma 2 may be realistic but with all of its bugs, and slow ai, its not so great.. from what i have read.. i have never play it StealthKnifeThe bugs are mostly visual bugs from what I encountered. Glitchy textures and stuff don't take away from the gameplay. The AI is fantastic, they are observant and accurate, and they will chase you for miles.
Counter Strike Source anyone? StealthKnifeA great game, but in strict terms of tactics, ArmA 2 outdoes it.

Well then I would have to go with SOCOM: Confrontation because I keep coming back to that game and it is very hard without the communication. Don't get me wrong you get lots of communication but when you don't its because you have lots of teammates that are drunk or high lol. Arma II have not played it yet because I have heard wait a bit longer till they patch it up reason is my ATI 4850 - 512MB gpu will not handle it good.
[QUOTE="StealthKnife"]Counter Strike Source anyone? WasdieCSS is an arcade game. Sure you need a lot of stratagy to play, but if you want pure tactical gameplay, ArmA 2 is what you need. Its not as buggy as you think it is.
How about the competitive side (Arma II online) how is it? As far as team work and balance with guns.
[QUOTE="taj7575"]Hell no, call of duty 2 64 player server feels like real ww2 foot battle. people everywhere on ur team and other team staking out places to take cover feels real, lol grenades everywhere. Atmosphere isn't realism.ARMA 2 is probably the most realistic shooter ever released so far.

There is really not much PvP. Its all co-op. Your tactics aren't learning a single map and playing it over and over and over with different stratagies. The map in ArmA 2 is massive. Tactics usually mean learning how to move as a squad, bounding through squads to cover through open fields, coordinating with fire teams or air support to take out targets like tanks, learning to use the environment to your advantage, moving while covered by smoke or suppressive fire, and overall adapting to every different situation possible.im sorry ive seen gameplay, arma 2 looks boring and wtf? all the videos i find are solders running for 5 mins, and when they find action they are hiding in grass doing nothing, sniping is the only interesting thing i find in the gameStealthKnifeIt's a milsim. Most of your time is spent travelling because distances are not compressed. The range of engagement is huge compared to pretty much every other game. It's certainly not for everyone, but if it IS your thing, nothing else compares. And the fact is, it is the most tactical shooter released this gen.

Thats a modern military game, those are tactics. ArmA 2 is the closest sim we have to modern combat outside of real military sims made for armies. 90% of the time you call in air support to take out an objective. Lots of running, lots of spotting, lots of long distance engagments.
You have to take in weapon weight into effect. in CoD 4 you could wield a M249 as it were a paintball gun. In real life that thing is damn heavy, especially with 200 round belts of ammo strapped to the carrier. You have to also realize that most missions can be completed with guided air support and very little fighting actually happens. It doesn't make for a fun videogame outside of those who enjoy simulating real life combat to the best we can.

It's just something that needs to be experienced.
