Best video game ending of all time?

Personbally for me, Silent Hill 2 ( the more serious endings)

Super Mario 64, after going through hell and back our hero finally gets what we knew about for the entire game, the cake

I found Uncharted's ending to be kind of comical. [spoiler] "Took these from a couple of pirates who were too dead to care." [/spoiler]

But if I had to go with my favorite ending to a game, I would have to say the first Kingdom Hearts.

MGS3 and Portal 2 have the two greatest endings. Very different reasons as to why they are great though.Ace6301

The orange ones are for sheer hilarity. The others are legitimately moving or, in Silent Hill's case, chilling.

Metal Gear Solid 3 without a doubt had the best ending I have ever seen in a video game.

That ending cutscene alone is so damn moving. It is rare for me to feel emotional about a game or film for that matter, but this ending right here brings me close to tears.

That reveal is just so brilliantly done. I really don't think they could have possibly had a more perfect or poignant ending there.

On top of that, the whole end game portion leading up to said ending is also fantastic.

Pretty much like the greatest game I have ever played.

Killzone 2 (not the story, but the whole level where you fight your way into Radec's Academy, and then fight off the waves of Helghast within the Acedemy)

The last hour of the first Mass Effect was pretty epic. MGS4 as well. Jeez that went on forever. I was exhausted after watching it.

The last mission on halo reach, i thought it wasbrilliant.

Blizzard has some great games but the writing is slipping hard. That ending was a pathetic whimper of an ending to a great villain.

There are some good endings in recent memory. Portal2 was incredibly satisfying. Mass Effect 1's ending sequence was awesome as well.

Edit: I forgot to add the Starcraft 1 ending (not brood war) is excellent. Back when Blizzard could hire people who weren't gradeschool writers and you could give half a crap about the characters.

Recently, Infamous 2. The good ending was gret, but that evil one makes me want to commit genocide on every conduit in the game.

Overall, FF9/10 ,Bioshock 2, Wind Waker, and UC2(god I praise this game like its Jesus ressurection, I should stop).

Half Life 2: Episode II had a fantastic ending. Other than that, I'll agree with MGS3 and Portal 2 as mentioned before.

inFamous 2's endings were the best this year easily, I never felt such emotion from an ending in a looong time like that.

I cant pick a best but Majoras Mask also had a very very emotional ending and feel to it
