First of all, there will probably be spoilers in this thread.
Who would you say was the best villain of 2012, for me it Vaas, shame he wasn't in the game alot. Not to mention his voice actor was one of the best in video games.
What about you?

I just got the dagger in FC3 (end of Buck's quests) and I strongly suspect they've pissed Vaas right down the drain. Volker seems to be a total throwaway, mediocre character and yet they made him the big antagonist for no reason I can imagine. It's like they frontloaded all this amazing sh!t with Vaas and then the actor ran out of material or something, so they had to gin up some new characters.
Anyway, I didn't know Haytham turns out to be a villain, so I guess I got spoiled for AC3. Which I'm really torn up about because of Assassin's Creed's history of stellar characterization and non-predictable plot twists.
First off Haytham Kenway wasn't even a bad guy just misunderstood. Now Vaas is straight crazy and Handsome Jack was the most sarcastic POS that you love to hate which made him a great badguy. Considering Vaas was just the yes sir man to Hoyt I will have to go with Handsome Jack. Vaas's voice actor was the best in 2012. Raul was corny sorry. Didact wasn't good at all but for Halo he was decent IMO. To me Master Haytham Kenway was one of the best characters of 2012.

Bambi Buck Hughes was a really good badguy in FC3 now I think about it. FC3 was all over the place in regards to badguys etc. Then again was sorta realistic since most people on Rookt Island was horrible to begin with.

I wasn't expecting Buck to be a villain, but when you find out what he did the Keith that was pretty insane.

He's not a bad guy per se, he just belongs to a different faction than the main character Connor.
There are three factions in AC3, all of them have their own agendas and ideologies they push. Nobody is right/wrong.
Buck was okay, but compared to Vaas his dialog was middling.
Was he supposed to have raped Keith? I wasn't too clear on that.
Yeah, pretty sure that's what they were implying
The way he was freaking out and overly sensitive.
The Didact was lame.
You know, there's no real reason for them to know to call him that. Like halfway through the game I was expecting him to be like, "B!tch, my name's Tim. What's with this Didact nonsense?"
Yeah, pretty sure that's what they were implying

See, they should have made it more clear during those missions that he was doing that. Buck would have been a better villain because you might really want to kill him and hate having to work with him. Instead, when he showed up I was just like "You're a dick, go away."

I never really thought he was serious about his threats, I just thought he was trying to make sure Jason did what he asked.
Have you read the Halo Kilo-Five trilogy? The Didact was lame.

I enjoyed Vaas the most but Ubi screwed up his potential.
Haytham was pretty great too.
tryagainlater
I would have much rather him be the main villain than Hoyt, considering how they advertised Vaas in pretty much everything.

Heck he's even on the box cover. I, too, hoped that Vaas would've been around till the end.
Also i had to look up the Marauder Shield thing, i laughed so damn hard.
Vaas seems like the obvious pick.
Um of the games I played. I don't know who I would specifically call the villain in Spec Ops The Line. That said I really really really really really love the DJ in that game.
RATED E FOR EVERYONE IS THIRSTY
I had to pause the game just so I could stop laughing.
Yeah that one was great.Vaas seems like the obvious pick.

I guess no one bought BLOPS 2, Everyone already knew it must be another rinse repeat situation. No love for Menendez eh? :P

This. The Radioman was a fantastic character. Konrad, too. Don't know if I'd call them villains, though.Vaas seems like the obvious pick.

Didact for me, somehow when he comes on in halo 4 he takes the scene (and audio cues) the didact not only has a epic name he's also a badass muther F&*ker, (but I read the books so I know more about him)

The campaign is actually pretty good for a Call of Duty, and Menendez was a pretty good villain.
