Best Villian in a Game

Which Villian would you nominate as the best and why? Any console, Any generation.

SPOILERS TO BULLY:

My personal nomination is Gary from Bully. Some people will probably think "... Why?" and here is why. Gary was just so cold and well played, you hated him for his deception but couldn't help but enjoy his persuasiveness and intelligence. I mean when he turns around and trys to get you beat up you just want to kill him. Then the little crap he pulls throughout the game is to much not to want to actually go in and beat the **** out of him.

Even though she wasn't so much of a villian, I think the effect she had as an antagonist was simply amazing.

Jon Irenicus is probably one of the most three-dimsenional villains, but I would say the Gman for ambiguity, it served Hannibal well (until we got all his backstory and he ceased to be scary) let's hope Valve don't make the same mistake.

He's a great villain. I remember being shocked on how evil he was when I first played it. Die dog, HAHA!!!

[spoiler] He was never really Liquid to begin with, only his mental doppelganger, he even had the ability to take control, seen during his final fight when he broke character a few times. Also yeah, he was never really a villian like you said. [/spoiler]

I would seriously have to disagree. Jon Irenicus was quite interesting until we found out his back story and motivations.

Then he fell into the exact same cliches and poor writing as the majority of other video game villains.

Which include Kefka, Sephiroth, and probably 95% of the characters listed in this thread.

Its sad that the writing for video game antagonists is so horrible.
