OP this is a really pointless topic, its not like Bethesda is going to answer your whims and tell you what to expect. They'll give news when they give news but if you want to complain you may as well make a Half-Life 3, Mass Effect 4, Resident Evil 7, Assassin's Creed IV thread and so on.
Though I have news, but I won't say it because you annoy me.

Whenever they decide to stop releasing broken games.;)
and stop butchering the lore from FO1 and 2. Fo3 was a mess in the department. Obsidian did really well with new vegas there.

It won't be announced this year.

Maybe at the VGAs like Skyrim.
okay i hope so![QUOTE="Blazerdt47"]

I don't get all these people saying that FO3 messed with the story. For God's sake, it takes place on the other side of the continent and barely touches upon anything, and what is there does not at all mess with the established lore. I've played through every Fallout game (except Brotherhood of Steel, because screw that), and I think a lot of people give FO3 crap just because its different and made by a different company.
Even if you don't care for the story, saying it messes with canon or lore is just a wrong complaint, and Obsidian even went ahead and took some of the events of Fallout 3 for a few references.
Also I got a PM being asked for Fallout 4 news... guys, is it so hard to look up Fallout 4 news on google? There was a pretty big Fallout 4 related thing recently and I won't say it because you are all lazy.
Elder Scrolls is their cash cow now. Any other Fallout games will probably be handed over to somebody else, like with New Vegas.
Get some writers from Obsidian and a few of the designers. But don't take in Obsidian wholesale. They can't make a competent game on their own.

Shut up with this "lazy" nonsense, the most recent FO4 news is the boston RUMOUR... And to those who helped thank you very much i appreciate it.[QUOTE="SPYDER0416"][QUOTE="wis3boi"]

I guess that is help actually, nevermind.
Fallout Van Buren !
Make it happen, Bethesda :x

Not in the same design, but I'd be interested to play a modern version
Though we already know the ending sadly.
I want vehicles this time. In all the wasteland there's got to be someone who knows how to fix a car.

Well the bombs were dropped around, what, 1950s? Cars were booming but I don't think knowledge would be common enough to find someone.

You could drive a car in Fallout 2.

The bombs were dropped in 2077.....

SPYDER0416
It takes place on the other side of the continent, yet features a bunch of the most recognisable factions (and even a character) from the first two games, with only the flimsiest of justifications for them being there.
Actually, 'features' is being generous, since Bethesda completely missed the mark on the Brotherhood of Steel, the supermutants, the ghouls, generic raiders, and arguably even the Enclave:
- Fallout's Brotherhood of Steel are elitist, tech-mongering jerks. Bethesda's Brotherhood of Steel are valiant knights straight out of Tamriel.
- Fallout's supermutants are pretty much the master race, with the best of them being physically and mentally superior to humans in every way. After losing their creator, many of them ended up attempting to co-exist with the rest of the wasteland. Bethesda's supermutants are orcs and ogres, only worse since they can't string simple sentences together.
- Fallout's ghouls are extremely slow-moving, but usually perfectly peaceful and reasonable, humanoids. They're basically immortal geriatrics. Bethesda's ghouls are either radiation-throwing fast zombies or ugly, surly humans.
- Fallout often tried to give you the option to negotiate with bandit and raider groups. Bethesda decided that all of them are hostile, generic cannibals (like supermutants, for that matter)
- Fallout's Enclave was technologically and strategically superior to anyone else in the Wasteland, shattering the combined might of the Brotherhood of Steel with ease. Bethesda's Enclave didn't seem to have a lot going for them, and were trying to use a weaker version of their same plan from the previous game.
Anyway...okay, sure, it's the East Coast and these are all 'splinter factions' with nothing to do with their West Coast counterparts. But if they're going to completely change these factions' core philosophies and characteristics, why include them in the game at all? Why not just keep the old fans happy by coming up with new, non-lore-screwy groups?

Haha wait, are you seriously saying that Bethesda can make competent games?
I mean, say what you want about Obsidian's technical prowess (or lack thereof), but Bethesda has never made a game as stable as...pretty much any Obsidian game. Obsidian are also pretty much top of their game in terms of roleplaying mechanics, too - very few other companies push the bar as much as they do, even if their games can end up being super-frustrating to play.

You'd be right about that - there were vehicles in Fallout 2, and a few too many in Tactics.
Push the bar as much as Obsidian?
No really. Please continue.
Behind the lazy programming and terrible game design there is some gold in Obsidian. But they have rarely if ever 'pushed the bar'.
Fallout New Vegas was built on Bethesda's Engine. You'd think given an engine already made that there would be less bugs. And yet there were more. Even all patched up, it still lacked the polish (I use this word lightly) that Bethesda's game had
This coming from a fan of Fallout since the original, as well as preffering Fallout NV over 3. I also loved the Roleplaying mechanics and creativity in NV, which was really only held back from greatness due to an aging engine that made the world sometimes feel lifeless and static.
With the best interests, I would like Bethesda behind the technology and the design, and for Obsidian to be behind the story, writing, artwork and the roleplaying elements.

I remember reading in Fallout that the supermutants were physically stronger and more immune to disease, but they were less intellgent as a trade off. Also they have no ability whatsoever to reproduce.
I don't remember all of the ghouls in Fallout being peaceful and friendly. You had the crazy ghouls inNecropolis and some ghouls would simply attack you on sight. I don't think there was anything wrong with bethesdas portrayal of the ghouls. They are ugly beings that are rejected from normal society, that was what they like in the first two games.

because the entire game was mushroom clouds and super mutants. Somehow bethesda thought that's what fallout revolved around

I agree with this, but sadly Bethesda isn't much better in terms of gameplay quality or game stability. I personally encountered more bugs in the PC version of Skyrim than I did in the PC version of New Vegas. Maybe Obsidian should take in some new poeple instead?

FO3 is east coast Fallout.
FONV is west coast Fallout.
You may not like one or the other but it fits the lore set by previous games.
I agree, but I doubt we'll see anything before next E3 or 2013 VGA's and I expect a release late 2014. Bethesda has a history of 3-year dev cycles, so IF they are working on Fallout 4 next that would be the logical assumption. Oblivion was delayed from it's original 2005 release so don't call my logic flawed based on that. Morrowind-2002 Oblivion- 2005, delayed to early 2006 Fallout 3-2008 Skyrim-2011 Fallout 4-2014? Next gen title. I'll be very excited to see news on it. Fallout with the new Creation engine from Skyrim makes me giggle like a little girl.Man i am losing patience, everyday i google the words "Fallout 4" to see if there is any new news about the game... but nope, comeon bethesda! They will probably make a new one, but I wouldn't expect it anytime soon. It might end up being a next gen game probably.
I love Fallout, so the more the better.
I would much prefer Bethesda to work on a new engine, or port over some tech from id. Their engine's are terrible.
Wasdie
If they go by previous iterations they will be using a slightly improved Skyrim engine. I doubt they will invest in a new engine until the next gen of consoles come out or are very near the horizon.
