2 major events in the life of the 360 have made me wonder why lemmings here still support Microsoft.

1) RROD. When the Red Ring of Death came out and problems were already obvious, Microsoft denied, and denied, and continued to sell the 360.

2) Even after Warner, Netflix, Best Buy, and now Walmart choosing Blu-ray Microsoft still sells the HD DVD add-on.

Microsoft knows when their products aren't good for you. Still they sell to you. That to me is an extreme abuse of trust. Yet, they still have the nerve to teach the lemmings here how bad Sony is for "forcing" Blu-ray on their customers. Sony hasn't misled their customers like Microsoft, who maintains that their consoles are reliable and that HD DVD is best for consumers. Yeah, right. So please, stop defending Microsoft so blindly in this forum.

they also believe that waiting 20min for a game install is worse than waiting weeks to get their xbox360 from the repair shop and only to break down weeks later.

Hehe. All is fair in love and systems war. Really, though, in the PS3 vs. the 360 debate, it's so much easier to defend the PS3. I am just getting things out of my chest. I used to read this forum for years, until I decided to post a month or so ago. I found this site to be populated by too many lemmings relative to the cows. Just trying to even out the playing field a bit.

I'm not one to defend Microsoft, or any company for that matter. That being said, I am a Nintendo fan.. and I support their efforts to broaden the gaming community, as it sorely needs it. But saying that they should STOP selling their hddvd add-on is pure foolishness and calling us fools if we buy is border line ignorance. Microsoft should stop selling something they more than likely have a large stock of and bury them in the New Mexico landfill with ET? is that what you are telling me?

Microsoft should stop misleading their consumers about the products they know aren't good for them. In fact, they should have stopped selling the add-on since last month, even more so now after Walmart's decision. And Microsoft should stop bashing their competitors tactics when they themselves are the most devious.

Did you even read what i said? You know, WalMart still sells HDDVD's... they most likely will at stores till tehy sell out of their inventory. Just like Microsoft will probably do with their add-ons. But then again, the fanboy in you willl read right over ehat I said... so with that, I'm going to bed. Goodnight.

Okay, my 360 is yet to fail.... my windows works great, thank you very much (yes its the Media Center XP :P) Ohh and wait, are we actually required to buy the HDDVD right now? Im pretty sure I've yet to suffer from not having one... But I guess they should have just shoved it in and jacked the price at launch.... wait Sony did that with BluRay

You seeem ot have very little sense when it comes to business. The HD-DVD addon has been marked down to get rid of it. I highly doubt they are making any more and I highly doubt that the next version of the 360 will have an HD-DVD drive built in like was said previously. The RROD has been solved with the 3 year warranty and the 65nm chips as well as the updated graphics card that is going to be coming out.

Sony is well known for their shoddy over priced products. Why do you still support Sony?

To complement the above post, Microsoft stands behind their product with the 3 year warrantly, not onyl are they working on other software for less failure, but also working to accomodate those who's system crashed. Sounds like some responsible business conduction to me.

Oh, please. Deal with it. It's systems war. I have things to get out of my chest. Yes, they don't recall, but they should not continue to deny the problems and mislead their consumers to continue to buy their products. I can't believe you are defending Microsoft like this. Remember how long it took Microsoft to finally admit a hardware problem? And what failure rate has Microsoft continued to maintain to this day? 3-5%! When every objective analysis say it's between 16 to 33%. This is like the cigarette companies denying how bad cigarettes really are.

As for the HD DVD add-on, Microsoft continues to say they support HD DVD and that it's best for the consumers, blah, blah, after the evidence said otherwise. Sure, 2 companies still exclusively support HD DVD. But the majortity of the studios 75% had already supported Blu-ray exclusively. Yet Microsoft still say they believe HD DVD is best for consumers. Yeah right. To make matters worse they dare to walk on a higher ground than their competitors, accusing Sony of being bad for forcing Blu-ray on consumers. Lemmings here are repeating the same things Microsoft said against Sony. Yet, they, like you, don't take the time to be objective about it all.

Responsible business or fear of a massive class action lawsuit? 3 yrs isn't enough when systems is more than 10 times less reliable than the PS3 or the Wii. It's also not responsible to keep maintaining the official 3-5% failure rate, when most analysis say it's between 16-33%.

Yes, i agree with nogginkl. i had my xbox360 early last year and play not very regular due to workload. i hardly finish any game on it but guess what, the RROD appear all of a sudden and i have to send for repair. how can microsoft make such defective system and circulated around giving it the hype of 'next generation console'? i got my ps3 recently and love it ever since.

just admit the fact that ps3 is technologically superior to xbox360 just as xbox is superior to ps2. the blue ray takeover of HDD-DVD is expected and i believe that when someone is sincere in doing business, they will become successful. recalled the fact that people bashing ps2 but that system still the king. recalled people bashing blue ray but eventually most companies supported it. microsoft is not sincere and that is why they are gaining lost ground.

just a thought.
