I only played singleplayer in 1942, actually. :P64 player jet's Wake Island
Yeah that will keep me entertained. Who plays BF for the SP?

The same sort of writing can be applied to almost anything. Call of duty, halo, killzone, resistance, you name it.
Just another one of thoses articles where the writer was either not in a mood to play, or he was looking for attention.
I have no interest in the game, but have to admit. I think its funny to see it fail after so many people hyped it as the 2nd coming of christ, man that annoyed me.
Can't say I'm surprised. Military shooter campaigns are often remarkably boring. Bad Company 1's campaign was sort of fun because of the characters and gold chasing storyline, but the set pieces and campaign itself was just forgettable.
it does look boring, even from the short clips of selected gameplay for marketing, unless you're allowed to break the scripted sequences and do your own thing.
but doing things differently for each playthrough? that's just crazy talk, games can't allow that...
heck, they actually put the SP and MP on seperate discs this time. one step further and consumers wouldn't even be forced to fork over money for worthless single player filler.
just skip the BS, let players download the actual game (MP) for 40 dollars on XBL and PSN.
How much you wanna bet that MW3's campaign is gonna be better? They are both shooters which focus on umm... shooting and set pieces. MW3 looks to be more creative with the scenarios it places you in (going by what I've seen so far). Oh, and the obligatory: BF3 has better graphix!!!
Even though I thought the campaigns of MW1, MW2 and Black Ops were complete trash, I agree with this. How much you wanna bet that MW3's campaign is gonna be better? To be honest im wanted BF3 to stay as far away from COD campaign style which is basicly "what is michal bay was the director". I still say till this day I enjoyed the MOH sp much more then black ops. For the most part it didint feel over the top and goofy like COD is.
Is this affirmation of what David Jaffe said after E3? He said that BF3, while an amazing technial marvel, won't be completely impressive if it doesn't evolve in it's design. BF fans attacked him like rabid mongrels. Sounds like they're mostly putting you in standard 'been there done that' situations.
Edit: But to DICE's credit, I can't remember the last time I flew a jet in a SP campaign :P.
Black Ops heli mission looked really awesome to me when I saw the footage at E3. Unfortunately it wasn't quite as fun as it looked. Is this affirmation of what David Jaffe said after E3? @ActionRemix - I don't think you can even mention that site here. I recommend you edit your post :). Oh, LMAO at "Et Tu EA"!
BF3 can redeem itself if the toy dinosaur becomes more than a wink to 4 chan Edit: 4 chan is censored? >.>ActionRemix
Yeah, since it leads to a website Gamespot would rather not advertise. I remember during the All Time Greatest Villain contest a lot of people just referred to it as "the site that shall not be named"

Noone.
The idea was to make a singleplayer that was actually good enough to draw in people who normally wouldn't pick up battlefield.
Edit: After reading the article, it seemed like the author just wanted to not like it. I'll wait for release and reviews to get a real idea of how the singleplayer is.
So many weird rules I'm not aware of. Hooray!. I assumed nobody would get my sig. It's a very esoteric line even though it's probably the most famous line from a play next to "To be or not to be."@ActionRemix - I don't think you can even mention that site here. it cant be more boring than the last couple halo games
arbitor365
the games that let you screw around with different enemies and vehicles, and not strictly follow a script of "pick up this weapon! shoot the helicopter/stab the enemy that's holding still just for you!" ?
Honestly who didnt see this coming? When the teaser was first released everyone went APE SH@#, ever since then with each new video the game has looked worse and worse (not actually bad, but lesser than what the teaser SHOWED US). Even now the graphics arent close to what the Teaser showed...it was all smoke n mirrors and now we have played the beta which is basically Bad company 3 and now they are telling us the campaign is boring. Yea im kinda done with modern shooters I think for now...
I grew up playing Counter-Strike, so I always had that love for strong competitive play. I NEVER saw the appeal of hollywood-esque style single player campaigns, unless it was a sci-fi/zombie shooter.
I personally wasn't hyped until the Caspian Border trailer. That's the reason I registered at Gamespot. [spoiler] You're also completely wrong on everything else. I think the issue is based on the beta the multiplayer's nothing to write home about either. It wasnt until Bad Company that a Battlefield game had singleplayer campaigns. We bought them in droves when it was online only, a poor campaign is just ana fterthought. Who cares if it sucks, the multiplayer is the draw

When I hear Battlefield single player, I think Multiplayer with bots. Im not fussed about the single player one bit but ive still preordered it. I havnt finished the Bad Co 2 campagin yet but ive spent hours playing the game.
Mw series has spent the last 4 years building its mythos, whilst the BF is having its firs SP campaign, this is not shocking...at allHow much you wanna bet that MW3's campaign is gonna be better? I felt BO was meh-ok at best while MW2 sp was god awful piece of ya know. IN the end none of the cod stories or character from 4-BO did anything for me. Forgetable characters and pretty much everything els.

What !!?? The COD games always have great, fun and varied campaigns. Black Ops delivered the goods in the campaign department, from the siege of vorcuta to the later vietnam missions and another mission were you got to play as a certain russian guy in a certain place (trying to keep spoiler free). The story in Black Ops was enjoyable too. If you want a bad storyline play Uncharted 2 or Killzone 2,3. And if you want bad characters play Killzone 2,3. MW2's campaign was amazing aswell, the level design, the set pieces, the soundtrack, the variety everything was incredible.
