LINKY!!!!!!!
The web page have the date for today, so the info isn't old, and while it was floating around here by fanboys, there was no actual source backing up their claims back then.

They have a respond for you in the article lol:
"For example, Battlefield 4 will run at 900p resolution on the PS4, but only in 720p on theXbox One. Bach says that no matter what, people will compared the different versions and “judge us based on that, rather than comparing us to other games on the platform”."
Seems weird actually. PS4 has a 50% GPGPU FLOPS advantage over XB1. Yes?
1600 x 900 = 1440K pixels
1280 x 720 = 921.6K pixels
1440K / 921.6K = 1.5625 ... or a 56.25% 'pixels rendered' advantage.
So, in this particular instance, assuming the same frame rate, PS4's pixel advantage is disproportionately higher than the flop advantage, it's doing better than I'd ever suspect.
There could be more going on, resolution isn't everything, but still ... how curious.
Anyway, my girlfriend wants this so it's pre-ordered on Origin. I've seen the BF4 Beta running on PC, and on 360 and hahahaha, that 360 version. Hilarious.
@psymon100:
Lol, I recently started playing BF3 on PC nearly maxed out, and it's night and day compared to the 360 and PS3 versions. I can't imagine the difference with BF4

Umm, all I did was post the message. I never put "PS4 > X1 x 1000" because of this. Get mad at the message, not the messenger.

It's kind of like, BF3 is nice and shiny on PC, BF4 is a little bit shinier.
BF3 looks ... passable on 360. BF4 beta ... I'm pretty sure it looks worse :(
wow I thought the resolution is same on both consoles. Very unfortunate that xbone is lacking behind even in initial stages. Also why the hell is ps4 doing 900p? I mean a Radeon 7870 card easily does Battlefield 4 beta on 1080p with smooth framerate. This makes no sense.
If you find a difference between 900p and 720p on a big screen, you're ridiculous.
but what if it is 1920x900p vs 1280x720p? That's a pretty huge difference in horizontal resolution.
@ermacness your link doesn't provide any quotes about the resolutions. This is just the author pulling stuff out of his ass.
If you find a difference between 900p and 720p on a big screen, you're ridiculous.
You're forgetting it'll be upscaled to 1080p; 720p upscaled looks a lot blurrier than 900p upscaled.

Possibly due to the rumoured (and suggested by devs) advantage the PS4 has in drivers. There was definitely one dev/leaker who claimed the PS4's drivers were in a more mature state iirc. Who knows whether this gap will be shortened or widened, personally i'm predicting a catch up initially as the Xbox drivers match the PS4 and then a widening as the PS4's stronger hardware and GPU compute is made the most of.
What's most surprising from this is not the difference in hardware but the fact that it's been confirmed before the release of one of the graphically stronger multiplat titles and that MS hasn't managed to convince the devs to gimp the PS4 version. At least politics isn't getting in the way as was suggested before.
Guess this is why we didn't see much in the way of gameplay of the Xbox versions of multiplats.

Have you seen the PS360 beta?
360 runs at a lower resolution,has worse textures,AA,shadows,and more !! lol
:D

They want to hit 60fps most of the time
Hold up - was DICE actually quoted confirming those resolutions? Or just the website editor?
The original OXM article doesn't have any resolutions mentioned in it (unless MS told them to omit it lol)
We should wait for some confirmation on those resolutions from DICE. Just to be fair to lemmings. Don't want to see a mass exodus just based on RUMORS after all, right Lemmings? RIght?
The BF4Central.com article mentions this link as a reference: http://www.oxm.co.uk/64205/dice-making-battlefield-4-look-the-same-on-all-platforms-would-be-the-cowards-way-out/
But nowhere in that link does it say the PS4 version will run at 900p and the XBOX ONE version will run at 720p!!!
Nice try Cows!!!!
This was posted 2 days ago from the PS magazine peeps:
http://ps4daily.com/2013/10/battlefield-4-developer-talks-playstation-4/
Different DICE programmer, same idea. No actual direct QUOTE though. So, still unofficial on the resolution differences.
Basically, the PS4 version is pretty much confirmed at 60FPS/900p.
Nothing about the Xbone resolution though.

why would orignal xbox magazine say that anyway? hints be droppn

Yes, because the messenger hasn't had over 6,800 posts here.

and your point is?
But lemming said all multiplats would be the same?
Lems also said it would take YEARS before any differences would show between xbox 1 and PS4?
So many lems echoed those two statements, even recently. lol, I also remember lemmings talking about the possibility of having a superior version of BF4 on x1.
It's there fault for believing in some secret sauce when hard facts and developers have testified saying the same thing the whole while.
It does not say anywhere in the original article(click on the OXM link) That the PS4 is running the game at 900p and that the x1 is running it at 720p. It amazes me how some of these fools try in vain to diminish the x1.

PS4 doesn't have 7870 GE i.e. 2.56 TFLOPS vs 1.84 TFLOPS.
The target frame rate is 60 fps.
If you find a difference between 900p and 720p on a big screen, you're ridiculous.
if you're playing a game like BF on a big screen tv you're going to be at a disadvantage.

That is at Ultra settings, it is quite easy to turn it down to Medium/High to get 60 FPS minimum frame rates and I bet that would look better @1080p rather than High/Ultra @900p.
Edit: That was also done on Windows 7 which has shown much worse performance than Windows 8 so there is also the possibility that it is totally unoptimised and not a true reflection of the expected performance.

A step down from Ultra is High settings and it's has some frame rate boost.
BF4 devs are noobs. How does the way better looking Shadow Fall run at full 1080/60. PS4 has the power to run BF4 at 1080 since BF gfx are no good.
Awesome , right of the bat it's already bye bye to 1080 P for both .
It's like last gen already , peasants fighting for second place scraps .

Many PS4 and X1 games are confirmed to be 1080p/60fps. Assassin's Creed 4, Resogun, Fifa 14, Forza 5, CoD Ghosts, Shadow Fall mp, FFIV, Flower, Transistor, just to name a few.
I would say 720p or 900p/60fps for a game like Battlefield 4 is pretty acceptable, especially considering it's a launch game.
