Will BFBC2+Vietnam be better than Black ops?
Vietnam is a expansion pack coming out.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Well since BC2 ----> Black ops (multiplayerwise I prefer the OTT micheal bay lite COD campaign) then I'd say yes.
For a start - Tanks. Choppers. listening to classic vietnam songs tops anything ive ever seen in cod since COD2 imo. Oh and tanks with flamethrowers. Oh yes.
Infact zombies and wager matchs are the only part of multiplayer Im enoying in cod these days. Shame BC Vietnam wont sell as much as the steamtrain that is cod:(
I hate people liking COD too much.

whats good about bad company? the single player was sort of like a less cinematic COD game... and the multiplayer feels like you are playing with bots since you cant communicate and strategize with the majority of your team.... all i really gathered from playing it is you either sit back and take pot shots from across the map or sit and wait on vehicle spawns. It grew boring very quickly. Im not a huge COD fan... but I think its alot more fun than bad company.

yeah, the singleplayer kinda sucked
Ill give you some proper tips to help you enjoy it more:
JOIN A SQUAD, if you don't do this, theres no point in playing
Stay with your teammates, being a lone wolf isn't going to do a great deal for your team
Use your classes special items (abilitys? Idk), if your a medic, use health packs regularly on people who need them, and go out of your way to revive people, you get alot of points for it too,
for engineer, use your dart tag on helecopters then blow them up with a rocket launcher, or you can stay near to vehicles, or maybe get in a vehicle and go out and repair it when it needs repairing.
For assault, well, its probably the least worthwhile class but has pretty cool guns (in my opinion), if you dont like grenade launchers, switch to a smoke grenade launcher instead, throw ammo kits to whoever is around you, but its the least helpful class tbh.
For recon, yes, recon, its NOT just a sniper class, call airstrikes on vehicles or key buildings to destroy them, it can be extremely helpful, throw your mini radar things (i forgot the name) around where some of your team are to spot enemies, it can be extremely helpful.
DO NOT KNIFE, the knifing in this game is so worthless and its probably easier to move away, reload and shoot an enemy instead.
Dont wait for vehicles to spawn, push forward on foot so your squad can respawn on you and you won't need vehicles anyway (or at least Humvees and quad bikes).
I hope this helped you, if you even still have the game :P.

Assault is the main class for infantry destruction, and does the work pretty well. Medics, instead, Im still trying to figure what they are for. Seem totally useless to me.
CodBO is such a poor game its unreal. Its a random mess of random spawning, shooting some peeps in the back, then getting shot in your back from an enemy that spawns in behind you, and repeat. There is nothing more to it, its just hidden behind the perks system. How well you do on it is entirely dependant on having the best connection, and getting lucky with spawning in the best places, and it takes no skill at all. Even worse, it rewards the people doing best by giving them silly bonus weapons with which to rack up endless free kills so they can basically sit back and collect the win. Its lame and I really dont like the whole setup, even the maps are designed so you can defend anything anywhere ever, you just get shot in the back soon as you try it. Nobody cares about stratergy or dieing because your back on quicker than you can say 'darn it I got shot again'.
Battlefield has always been the much better title, but its not as popular because it takes actual thought and skill to be good at it.

[QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"]Just played Vietnam for a bit. It's pretty awesome!psn8214
Is it out for the retail version of BC2 yet? Or just Steam?
Just Steam. Which sucks, since I bought mine from the EA Store :(

Wrong I got it off the EA store they sent me a Email with my code at 1am pdt. There are no classic 60's songs, there is "60's sounding music". EA forgot to properly communicate that the 49 songs are all generic instrumental ones. Fortunate Son only plays in the menu apparently, which would make me understand IGN's criticism. I guess if one had been reading between the lines you wouldn't feel misled. Namely if songs like Surfin Bird were in there, they would've specifically mentioned/used that in their marketing material. But alas, I am disappointed.Well since BC2 ----> Black ops (multiplayerwise I prefer the OTT micheal bay lite COD campaign) then I'd say yes.

I guareentee Vietnam will work close to perfectly on release day. No horrendous lag, disconnects and no feeling of spending full price money on a beta. That alone will make Vietnam superior to Broken Ops....

BC2 was already the better game and with the Vietnam expansion it is by far the better game!! CoD stopped being great at CoD 4 which is the one I still play and it seems that atleast on the 360, CoD 4 is gaining back alot of gamers. I think that the shine has worn off of Black Ops now and people are either going back to MW 2 or 4 or they are playing BC2. Blops is an epic fail!!!

appreciate the tips... but yea i traded the game in a while ago.:(
I just joined games randomly and most of the time the people on my squad didnt have a mic... or didnt seem to care what anyone else was doing. Which is why i either just sat around and sniped or grabbed vehicles.
To be honest i just dont think i like the style of game... for the same reason i dont like vehicle maps in halo. Too many players, too chaotic... dont really feel like im doing much. I suppose it could have been more fun if i knew the people on my squad and coordinated. Usually the reason i like playing Halo or to a lesser extent COD is the good feeling you get from shooting faster and more accurate than your opponent. If im sitting in the scorpion in halo just racking up a ridiculous killstreak because im in a giant tank... the kills just dont feel very satisfying. I didnt really get that sense of accomplishment for killing people in BC2.
I guess maybe they are just much different styles of gameplay.

Whats so good about CoD's campaign. Its a few generic levels with A to B objectives hidden behind a plot that simply allows more variation in the level themes. The enemies infinitely respawn, and if you turn up the difficulty they simply hail you with never ending cover fire while throwing so many frags (everyone straight into your pockets, awesome lifelike AI ) it sounds like someone has just turned over a milk float.
I don think many titles have a truly outstanding campaign these days (Reach is my personal favourite for many reasons, including AI, level scale and the fact replays play out differently), and I finish very few because I find it hard to force myself to be put though it. Online is where its really at with FPS games (until Valve give us some real hope again), and CoDs on line really is generic as it gets, hidden behind a ranking system that draws in the crowds.
The very best games are seldom the most popular.
