This is just to show I am not a Nintendo worshiper, like I'm sure some people think on this forum, and to show I know Nintendo dosen't do everything right.  Here are my complaints...............

1. Only giving developers modified Gamecube kits to work on launch titles.

Sonic and the Secret Rings is the ONLY (as of now) title that made use of the Wii's power built from the ground up on a REAL Wii dev kit. I find this sad but also can't wait for titles to actually start looking good: Mario Galaxy, Prime 3. :)

2.Taking so long with online play and not doing it right.

I know Nintendo is new with online play so I guess we can argue this one but with the first online title coming in June (Pokemon Battle Revolution) has already been released in Japan since December 2006 and it's taking them FOREVER to bring it to the U.S..

Also why is Nintendo implementing SEPERATE friend lists for online games?  There is a perfectly good adress book available for emailing friends and trading miis with friends that it confuses me why Nintendo just doesn't use this.  It would be like a unified friend list ala X-Box Live.

O.k. I'm done. :P  Do you think my complaints are fair? Discuss.

one problem to your theory nintenod is Not NEW TO ONLINE

http://www.n-sider.com/articleview.php?articleid=258

"

That is very likely the number one criticism Nintendo has received this generation. It is also the number one criticism that is absolutely wrong.

What many fail to realize is that Nintendo has in fact given online gaming a chance during just about every console generation since the original Nintendo Entertainment System. From investments to partnerships, the history of Nintendo's online escapades is one that spans over two decades and is deeper than the blue of the Pacific. Nintendo's online past also paints a picture of how the company, though it may say differently now, once strived to become a communications juggernaut like that of AOL Time Warner or MSNBC"

It's not official, but it's rumored that Gamespy is going to be in charge of Wii's online service.  That's not good, if anyone else has used Gamespy Arcade or DS's online you'll know what I'm talking about.

1. Actually this might have been the most brilliant move Nintendo made last year. By giving them dev kits they were already familiar with, 3rd parties could whip up games very quickly and since they knew the architecture they could devote more time to figuring out the controls. Admittingly, they still need to work out the controls...but imagine how much worse games would play if devs had to learn a new architecture in addition to new controls.

2. Yes on taking too long with online....we'll have to wait an see how it turns out.

On a more serious note, yes, what is nintendo thinking with that sort of online? What obstacles are there to create a better online structure? I'm pretty sure there are plenty of people willing to pay a little extra like what MS does. I agree with the dev kit thing. But it's good to know it's been sorted out now.

Indeed. Hopefully Dread will be coming out soon... and hopefully it will be more like SM and less like ZM and F.
