Bigger flop...Too human or Haze?

Haze it flopped on every site...Too Human got some okay reviews from IGN etc.....but Lair is still the biggest flop of them all

I would have to say Too Human, just because I think everyone thought it was at least going to get like an 8.5, myself included.

As for Haze, I predicted about 7.5 after playing the demo.

They're probably tied to be honest, both games hyped big and both flopped so... Lair wins.

Haze Hyped A - AA got a 6

Too Human Hyped A-AA got a 5.5

I've heard that "myth" before but I think it is actually true... or at least that some cows were comparing it to Crysis. I think there was a thread called something like, "HAZE FPS - Crysis who?" or something along those lines... :lol:

Anyway, yeah, floppage.

Too human easily, they have been working on this game with either story board or character designs for 10 years, then 4 years of actual 360 hardware development time and it was hyped as revolutionary but ended up underdelivering.

I really hoped it would have been good, I love mythology and it seemed interesting, but when I saw the gameplay I knew not to expect greatness.

I am sure Haze is probably a worse game but then again it didnt get the amount of hype and time like Too Human.

Was it the vast majority or just random fanboys because we had plenty of Too Human threads explaining how this game makes the 360 line up. Just because a few random people go overboard does not mean it represents the majority. It was officially hyped A-AA so obviously most people werent calling it Halo Killer.

In my opinion, Too Human was worse

Some people put it in their 360 2008 lineup. Saying how it would be better than a lot of games on the PS3. Same with Haze, but many more people seemed to anticipated Too Human more than Haze.

So, even from my excitement, Too Human has dissapointed me more than games I have remembered in a long time.

lemmings hyping it aswell meant it flopped even more; e.g it was so poor it didnt even get released on other platforms.

I've seen some people claim that Too Human > Diablo 2, that's similar to calling it a Halo killer in my eyes.

Hard to judge though, both games experienced less and less hype as they gradually got closer to release.

Haze was bad, but Haze didn't have Denis Dyack, either.

hmm, thats funny up till now flops have only been decided on hype and score. Now were taking dev time into consideration and comparing game scores aswell?

That's just my own personal opinion I'd expect more from a game with that long of a development cycle. Too Human seems to have alot of technical issues in addition to the actual issues with the game itself, Haze was just another generic shooter in which fanboys decided to hype for whatever reason.

I'd rather play Too Human over Haze btw. but that doesn't mean Haze was a bigger flop then Too Human.

Now if you are talking Lair.....yeah I still say Lair was a bigger flop just because it was hyped a ton early on (much like Too Human) but even when people started getting cold feet it still bombed bigger than expected. Lair is probably the biggest flop this gen for big games.......although I wonder what would happen if they reviewed it with the new analog controls they added (probably would have flopped still but graded better than Too Human).

that's easy, Too Human. When i think of a "flop", it's not just if the game is necessarilly worse than the other, but how bad is the game compared with the hype it was getting. PS3 fanboys were definitely excited for Haze, but it wasn't near the insane hype for Too Human. When a game is in development for nearly a decade then it's bound to happen. Plus, when a game is in development that long you expect it to be much better than what the final product turned out to be.johnnyv2003

insane hype for too human? where/when? there was some but hardly "insane" levels. The people who were hyping it almost never claimed it would get AAA here.

Saying that I'd still say too human is the bigger flop.

out of the 30 reviews written about too human there are about 10 taht are positive. haze has about 50 reviews and theres 1. ONE positive. ill have to haze was a bigger flop just cuz it seemed nobody liked it while too human had its ups.nahmean187

Why are people saying Haze was hardly hyped when a lot of people were hyping it because of the people who made Goldeneye were working on it? I recall saying many times to people that Free Radical was overrated..I kept getting Timesplitters thrown back at me, which is overrated also.

Also, why are people bringing up list threads when you know it's usually the same 3 idiots making those threads?

Hyped by Korn, Sony, fanboys and the dev to be the 2nd coming of the lord himself... Only to flop in a blaze of burnt plastic.

To Human.... Yeah, not much hype other then the fact that it took 100 years to make and they had a big fight with Epic. No MS hype, no dev hype, some fanboy hype.

Pretty much what it boils down to.

There were threads comparing the jungle setting to Crysis about a year and a half before the game came out, because the bullshots for the game looked great, plys 360 owners were involved in that because it was still on 360 at that point. And I never heard anybody call it a Halo killer except lemmings to try and make cows look bad.
