I agree with Wario ware and Tony Hawk.

But have you played Galaxy? And SSX games are freakin' great. I so desagree there.

Hawks 3 yes.

Warioware yes.

Metroid Prime... No.

Mario Galaxy deffinitely not. this is probably the best game ive played this gen. (though i do enjoy alot of 360 games.. Dead Rising. Gears. Forza 2. PGR3 and 4.)

NFL yes and yes.

Freedom Fighters No the game was amazing.

SSX Tricky yes.

SSX No.

Perfect Dark Zero.. debatable but im inclined to agree ^^

freedom fighters should have got a 9.5, was a good game, with a good story and nice multiplayer.

How did you forget halo? whether u like halo or not, you have to admit that at least on some level its horribly overrated

Only game up there I would say was overrated was Warioware and maybe PDZ...

The rest are fine.

I see Metroid Prime, Galaxy, but no Assassin's Creed? No Halo? No Bioshock?

My top 10 would be:

1. THPS3 (10) - No.
2. Halo 3 (9.5) - If I can beat Legendary on my first time through a game, in under 8 hours I think something is wrong...
3. Assassin's Creed (9.0) - Wow. Just wow. Lame story/combat/quests.
4. God of War (9.4 IIRC) - Very well done game, but the gameplay was rather poor for an action title. It fell in the same category as Assassin's Creed for combat; at least GoW made it flashy and fun to watch, but not play.
5. Ocarina of Time (10) - Really an excellent title, but 10 worthy? No, there are better Zelda games out there.
6. Majora's Mask (8.3) - The best Zelda game, period.
7. Golden Sun 1-2 (8.6) - Awesome handheld titles, scored a bit too low, easily low AAA.
8. Bioshock (9.0) - really wasn't that great; lame story with another FPS gimmick. At least it was atmospheric and interesting.
9. FFVII (9.5) - eh, deserved a bit lower.
10. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (6.0) - slammed for not having online, Mii compatibility, and it was just too hard for the reviewer :lol:.

Oh and FFVIII (9.5) deserved a 10. ;)

Assassin's creed got what it deserved. And besides, I was concentrating on games with mid-to-high AAA scores.

Bioshock is exquisite and I would have rated it higher. Assassin's creed didn't attain some stratospheric score, so I don't see how its overrated.

Halo is a genre defining game for a console. Halo 2 may have been slighly overrated, but it still would have been AAA anyway. This means that it doesnt make the cut for the 10 most overrated games. MP should have been a full point or more lower IMO.

A game is overrated if you think the score is too high, not if the score is mid-high AAA.

Bioshock seriously had some issues with the plot and gameplay, it was a shooter with more unique enemies and less AI. The story was alright, but it really did rip-off SS2 and the ending, as well as some of the unexplained yet still surviving characters really bothered me. You never even met Tenenbaum face to face. The atmosphere was decent and well implemented but other than that it really falled flat on it's face trying to deliver.

Halo didn't really define the genre, and it hasn't ever defined the genre. It helped bring together console FPS online, but other than that it didn't really do too much (everything it did had been done before, and better). Since FPS is a very stagnant genre I could just say Wolfenstein 3D is the genre defining game, as very few FPS have strayed from that formula (and you still see countless WW2 FPS every year). Jeff Gerstmann himself says so in the review, that Halo 3 hardly does anything different from it's predecessors.

i dont really agree with your list, except tony hawk3 and PDZ. tony hawk3 wasent even the best in its series and PDZ just wasent that good.

but i would add mass effect, uncharted, zeldaTP, ratchet and clank and resistance.they all deserved higher ratings

Jeff Gerstmann himself says so in the review, that Halo 3 hardly does anything different from it's predecessors.

So now you go from Halo to Halo 2 to Halo 3.. Which is it? This is a relatively new franchise (in the grand scheme of things) that has consistently scored AAA. This can't be said of Metroid or Mario games. Halo 3 brings tons more to the table than its predecessors. What it doesn't do is change the formula, which is exactly why it remains AAA after 3 iterations.
