No sense whatever. How is just halo 3 "Milked"? Also hell we haven't had a GOW game in 3 years now. That's milkage?I'm going to have to say Halo 3 is by far the largest milk this generation.

I'm not sure your definition of 'milk' is the same as mine. Milk =/= hype. The true 'biggest milk' this gen is undoubtedly the Guitar Hero series.
I'm going to have to say Halo 3 is by far the largest milk this generation.
For Playstation, God of War 3 hype has been milked to death.
There are a lot more game series out there that are far more, "milkage" than Halo.I couldn't disagree more, and I'm not a Halo fan. As long as the sequels are good, it's fine with me.
And God of War is sometihng I wish I could play and 3 should have been out already. If that game was out during launch, I believe it would have made a difference.
Milking to me is constantly paying out to enjoy something you shouldn't have to pay out in the first place.
For example, if Wii didn't come with a nunchuk, but included a game that HAD to have the nunchuck, that's milking IMO.
I really don't see much milking this gen.
I'd have to say it's a tie between the RB/GH games and the Final Fantasy games.I'm not sure your definition of 'milk' is the same as mine. Milk =/= hype. The true 'biggest milk' this gen is undoubtedly the Guitar Hero series.

In terms of games, it would be Guitar Hero. In terms of hardware, it would be all those useless Wii peripherals.

That's not milking it's ripping people off.
Milking is when you make far to much of something and try to make as much money as possible from a particular franchise. Like, as mentioned, the guitar hero series. Or the numeroes expansions for the sims, or releasing a call of duty *every* year. That's milking.
Guitar Hero has been VERY milked indeed: (NOTE:not included games exclusively from last gen)
Guitar Hero III
Guitar Hero World Tour
Guitar Hero V
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
Guitar Hero: Metallica
Guitar Hero: Smash Hits
Guitar Hero: Van Halen
Guitar Hero: On Tour
Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades
Guitar Hero: Backstage Pass
Guitar Hero: Carabiner
And now activision is making a Band Hero and a DJ Hero to boot along with other planed games!
From last gen there's also:
Guitar Hero
Guitar Hero II
Guitar Hero: Rock of the 80's
Now THAT's milking 8)

foxhound_fox
I disagree. Many sequels to a game like GH is not milkage, because you don't have to buy it to enjoy it. It may be overkill, but that's not milkage.
Same with Wii peripherals. They are over done, but you don't have to buy any of them to enjoy what you currently own. Even mario kart comes with the Wii wheel free. It would be milkage if they require you to buy another wheel for a second player, but you don't.
Again, those peripherals can be considered overkill, but you don't need any of them where it doesn't make sense.

Milking does not mean you have to buy. It just means you make to many. Nothing to do with you buying it or not.
And seriously... Halo and GOW? There are only two halo games as of now this gen (with to caome yes) and Gow there are... none. Only one upcoming title. That's NOT milking.

So another way to say milking is overkill? I'm not arguing, I'm trying to figure out the offical GS definition of milkage.
Yeah, those are a ridiculous amount of GH games in a short time, but if they came out with a band I like, i'm all for it because I didn't have to buy the rest.
Like Singstar.
Wrong. It's stuff you have to buy to enjoy something. For instance. Remember how the PS2 only had 2 controller ports? You had to buy an adapter thingie to get 4 players on it. Milkage.Milking does not mean you have to buy. It just means you make to many. Nothing to do with you buying it or not.
Cataclism
Guitar Hero has been milked a whole lot more than Rock Band. You don't see a Rock Band game for practically every popular band out there. You don't see a Rock Band game for each console and handheld system. Rock Band is not overexposed like Guitar Hero. Activision just went all-out crazy and milked the GH name for every little bit that it's worth.

halo games are.
halo1
halo2
halo3
haloodst
halo reach
halowars only 6 games
metal gear solid games are
mgs1
mgs1vr
mgs2
mgs2 substance
mgs3
mgs3 subsutance
mgs4
mgs rising
mgs covert ops
mgs peace walker
mgs acid
mgs acid2
mgs i phone
all this not counting the original mgs games.
u get what im saying now halo is far FARR from being milked when comparing it to other top notch games like halo. the only people that think halo is milked are pitiful fanboys.

[QUOTE="angelkimne"]That, by far.Jandurinyou can't fool me. that's a balloon :xWhat!? That's outrageous, how could you make such a claim! :o
Ah, but unlike Harmonix and Rock Band, Activision doesn't allow you to apply you're older games to the new ones, nor does it allow you to access a massive catalogue of downloadable songs. In order to get new songs (for the most part) you have to buy a new disc... at $70 a pop (in Canada).
foxhound_fox
Ew. If you have to buy a new disk to download songs, you might have a very good point there.
Mario Kart might, but Excite Bots does not. And both cases are "milkage." If releasing so many games in such a short amount of time, over-saturating the market is "milking."
Wii Motion Plus? You'll have to buy it to play newer Wii games. That's milkage, just like the Expansion Pak. To get the "full" experience, you need to buy something that doesn't come with the original console.foxhound_fox
Well, every game can't have a wheel, and I prefer the nunchuk combo anyway. It doesn't require you to use a wheel. If it did, that would be more milkage.
Sure, you can argue Motion+ is milkage, but to me, that type of milkage is well worth it. It's really good stuff. I've only seen it in games where it makes the most sense. If it was required for something that really didn't leverage it, I'd that would really be milkage.

Over one summer I had to replace 4 controllers because the R1 buttons became non-functional. (that was the turbo button)Milking does not mean you have to buy. It just means you make to many. Nothing to do with you buying it or not.
shadow_hosi
actually, the biggest milkage (IMHO) is like what someone already stated here, Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Not only does those things come out every year, but to buy all the instuments (if you have to do this, i don't know),is pretty expensive. GT5p was milkage, yes, but it wasn't the biggest thoughI dont get how Halo3 and God of War 3 can be considered milkage! :|
Imo the biggest one is GT5P. Charging for a demo of a game (and millions of ppl actually getting it) is something i dont understand!!!

Wrestling games did and were no fun with just 2 players.
No doubt it's Guitar Hero , I lost the count after 3 , and if it weren't for the nazi zombies mode I think CoD:WaW would smell like milkage :P

As of today, there are 2 Halo games out. How many Guitar Heroes have their been? Biggest fail I've seen in a while. Please Log In to post.
