Biggest Story of 7th Gen is not What you Think

The Downfall of Japanese developers (as well as JRPGS) is the biggest story of the 7th gen

Square Enix made crap the entire generation

So did Polyphony Digital

Western Developers have been kicking their butts back and forth when it was totally the other way around for the 6th gen

Im a cow and I use to really love Final Fantasy and Gran Turismo,  but those games are utter crap now.  As much as it paints me to admit it.

People are kissing Kojimas butt now but whens the last time we got a REAL sequel or prequel to 2008's Metal Gear Solid 4?  Its been 5 years and counting and we've got nothing.

Japanese developers push out games at the rate of a snail.  Meanwhile Naughty Dog is pumping out Hollywoody quality titles every 2 years.  Turn 10 is pumping out AAA racing sims every 2 years non stop for a long time now.

So there you have it.

If you come to SW for the discussion you are doing it wrong. 

Japanese game development is terrible now. Only the most hardcore fanboys care. And I think deep down they don't even like the games. The pretend to like lame shit like JRPG's because it gives them some make believe badge of honor in a game forum.

...but seriously, you're basically saying that Japanese game development is failing because they can't pump out games in the same rate as American game developers?
