I didn't like the feel of the first Bioshock, but playing as a big bro could be the change of pace I want :)
This topic is locked from further discussion.
The first game definitely wasn't scary, but I'll say it had a few moments here and there, but I don't want them to go overboard with trying to scare people. And so far, this is exactly what I wanted from a sequel, it looks absolutely amazing. Game of the forever confirmed! :DThat looked scary as **** in the beginning. Good thing imo, first one wasn't scary at all.

Im unimpressed actually :( Looks like Bioshock 1 with better lighting :?Gh0st_Of_0nyx
And I guess you're impressed with The Conduit, right?? :P
Anyway, I think it looks great. The part of the hall's flood... amazing!!!
Can't wait :D
Character needs more weight in my opinion. I don't want to feel like Jack from the first one with a drill slapped on his arm, i want to feel like a big daddy :|AAllxxjjnnYou should go back and play BioShock, Big Daddies are very fast. Even the Rosie is able to keep up with you.

Yes I am impressed with the conduit, what I just saw looked more like an expansion then a sequel but I guess we will have to wait and see for the full game to drop.Character needs more weight in my opinion. WEll after all your the first big daddy. Whos to say that the guys who made the recent big daddys didint change the design after you were made. I dont want to feel like a big daddy it felt slow as hell in part 1 and I dont want the game to feel like that.

I know it looks similar to the original Bioshock but it's not like it looks the same.
Character needs more weight in my opinion. I don't want to feel like Jack from the first one with a drill slapped on his arm, i want to feel like a big daddy :|AAllxxjjnnI actually agree, thats the first thing I noticed.Though the devs said in a GI interview that you're not playing a traditional big daddy. You have a suit different from the others. It could be possible it allows for more agility? I don't know, but what I do know is that this is a very early build. In the interview it was said that more self-awareness would be implemented, such as the ability to see your legs. Being able to see and hear hulking legs stomp around alone sounds Big Daddy enough to me.
I didn't think it would pick up right after the first. Just another case of "forget the resolution, we're lettin' it ride" approach to sequel stories I suppose.
So they are being consistant in keeping the protagonist in the big daddy suit. Looks like we don't have to switch between having either the plasmids or guns drawn at one time. makes me wonder how reloading will be handled.
tenenbaum is still our radio buddy? I hope she doesn't have as many annoying lines as before.

Well, you might be right about his suit not being as heavy as the Big Daddy's in the first. We'll see.Im unimpressed actually :( Looks like Bioshock 1 with better lighting :?Gh0st_Of_0nyx

Are you judging the whole game by a video on Gametrailers? Come on now.. this game is being told from a whole different perspective, new story, new weapons, ect. What else does a game need in order to be a "sequel"?The environments look just like 1 which isn't necessarily a bad thing but I'm hoping to see more than just the same, it does look somewhat more thrilling from this bit. I'm definitely loving the new big daddy weapons but I also want to see new plasmid, I'm a bit worried they might just recycle the old ones.

you mean HUD elements right? not messing with your view? because if I had to play the whole game with the confined warped big daddy-vision from the original's finale, I'd probably hate it. :P

Once you turn into a big daddy your FOV gets somewhat reduced/darkened no? That was kinda annoying but yeah it would be a nice touch if they did add something like that here.

Both the Rosie's and definitely the Bouncer's helmets would inhibit sight too much imo. Once again though, not a traditonal Big Daddy. I'd have to see some concepts of how the view would look before making a final comment.[QUOTE="AAllxxjjnn"]Character needs more weight in my opinion. How about instead of adding playing as a Big Daddy, we do what you were originally going to do and make the whole game free roaming with survival horror elements? :|Juggernaut140
that's another thing. while bioshock was more of a world to explore then other FPSs, you were still sent along to each sandbox area in the same pattern every time. compared to what we saw outside the portholes, the rapture we actually played in was miniscule. if there were forks in the road and you could choose multiple areas to travel to for a given point, that would be welcome.

I do. It worked great for MP cause the helemet was more then looks. It was an actual tool. I didint like the big daddy view point you had in part 1.

The idea of making grenades out of used tin cans alone sold me on the game. Then I was disappointed to find out that you couldn't collect items (no inventory) which meant you couldn't combine them to make new items [QUOTE="Juggernaut140"]How about instead of adding playing as a Big Daddy, we do what you were originally going to do and make the whole game free roaming with survival horror elements? :|Mordred19

Did anyone here read the first ever Bioshock info presented in GI back in early 06? It was a lot different than what we got. Gatherers and Protectors (essentially aBig Daddy though)were a few of the mechanics taken out. It was a lot more sandbox esque, and from the screen grabs in GI, it looked pretty far along. I wonder why production on the concept halted? Things changed a lot in '07. Funny, cause the article is what originally got my hyped for thee game.I was kinda hoping they'd have the whole "Metroid Prime - you can tell you're wearing a helmet" thing going on, know what i mean?[QUOTE="AAllxxjjnn"][QUOTE="jamejame"]I actually agree, thats the first thing I noticed.Though the devs said in a GI interview that you're not playing a traditional big daddy. Yeh, i don't mean like you only being able to see a little circle view :P but like non-intrusive like metroid prime's.Please Log In to post.
