SPOILERS

I know i'm late but after finishing bioshock, I havta say it has the best story in any game i've played. Especiialy the part where you meet up with Andrew Ryans and find out Atlas is controlling you. Man that was an awesome twist.

I seriously doubt that Bioshock will have the best story when this Gen is over

Had you played System Shock 2, you wouldn't think so. Bioshock is literally system shock in a different setting. The stories are identical.

I agree it has the best story SO FAR. That will all change tomorrow, when mass effect is released

It was a great story, but what is the best one is all subjective anyway.

Some people hate it as much as you like it. For me, the story was on the good side, but the "good" ending was supremely satisfying, and I loved it so much. Very cinematic and touching.

As much as I loved BioShock's story, Mass Effect's is so much more enveloping.

it was interesting but nothing great, i would rather had some kind of CGI then having to stop to listen to a tape recorder. dead rising had an awesome story IMO.

Not really it was quite lame and un-interesting.

Best story of this Gen so far? The Witcher my friend.

Bioshock had an awesome story, yes, but frankly, I prefered the story in Twilight Princess. It was just so well done.

I thought Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, and World in Conflict had a more enjoyable plot. Not to mention Assassin's Creed right now is fun as heck. :)

Bioshock has one of the best stories of any shooter, ever, right up there with Deus Ex and the Max Payne games.

But Mass Effect will probably have an even better story.

I agree fully, I loved the depth of it all and how the tapes recorders all were pieced together. From what I've played, I think Bioshock is the best game so far this gen.

Totally agree with that, and the Evil ending couldve been better dished out

Unfortunately the gameplay doesn't quite live up to the story, atmosphere, and graphics, in my opinion.

The story was just weak, it was predictable like hell with all those "would you please..." (acutally i dont know if he said that, i played on german).

By no means is this the best story in ANY game. I am sorry. (It can be told in 5 minutes too)

[QUOTE="Always-Honest"]i disagree. but it was a great game!!!VinnWaran16

so what game this gen has a better story in your opinion?

first of all, i think it has a good story, but not the best.

imo: Portal has a great story development, Half life 2 (although it's a last gen game,i played it this gen on orange box), Assassins Creed, and probably Mass Effect (although i haven't played it, so i won't count that one. it's just from what i've heard).

Now that i think of it, CoD4 wasn't bad either.

I like to be surprised in the course of a game. My problem with Bioshock was that i expected much more friction in morality.. i never really thought i had to make a difficult choice that changed the course of the story.
