I see all these PC Nerds talking about how teh PC is bestest and every game is so amazing on PC and it rox everyones sox..

then why is BioShock nowhere to be found on sales charts for the PC version? Has it even managed to sell 100k copies yet?

I guarantee every multiplat game that's on the PC and 360.. the 360 version will outsell it 3:1 or better.. UT3 which has gotten it's name on the PC and with the PS3 install base so little.. The PS3 version will still sell the most!

PC gaming it dying.. face it

What are you trying to prove here? That it has really high system requirements? There are less people with capable computers vs. people with 360s? It's still better on the PC...

If your rig is AT ALL modern you should be able to play Crysis on atleast medium settings, and medium settings are on par with the vast majority of console games out there as of now.

Exactly. They don't post sales numbers for games that are released via digital distribution, like with Steam, where alot of people are purchasing Bioshock. >_>

TC is pulling crap out of thin air. >_>

so why again do developers make games for the PC anymore if they're just going to get bootlegged?

PC version will sell ok. But 360 version will sell more because it's on a console. Console software sales have been far superior to PC software sales for over a decade. This is because Pc gamers are spening too much money on upgrades as opposed to actual games..and they download it..ILLEGALLY. Coz it's so friggin easy.

More like "Because Bioshock had much more publicity for the 360 than for the PC." Half-Life 2 didn't sell so hot on the XBox, did it? No, because it was marketed as a PC game. Same thing with Bioshock. It's been marketed as a 360 game. Also, I repeate, they do not postsales numbers for games purchased through Steam etc.>_>

The PC version didn't sell good in stores because one people were complaining about Securom and I got sick of it, and two they could of easily bought it off of Steam, without leaving the house.

60% of Bioshock's PC sales are from Digital Distribution and its sold well over in Europe. The NPD number only account for US Retail Figures... So 80,000 games sold for 16% of the market is amazing...

PS - Here is how I got my figures, Europe accounts for 60% of the PC market and thats skimping it.

So out of 40% in the US, at least 60% purchased through Steam or Direct2Drive. That means the USretail figures account for 16% of the market.

So take 80,000 and multiply it by 5 and then add another 40,000 and you got approximate figures for Bioshock PC. So thats 440,000 copies. Then, remember PC games sell at a steady pace 4-5 years down the road normally. Half-Life 2 still sells VERY well on the PC for a 3 year old game. Its hit the 13 million mark.

Well, I bought it over Steam... No hassle with online registration, no hassle with securom...

How did it sell in retail outside the US of A? Probably much better than in US of A.

Btw, Steam ftw.

BioShock PC is outselling the 360 version in Europe (which NPD numbers don't count), and digital distribution isn't included, which amounts for a huge portion of the sales. You fail.

No I am not joking... The US is a small portion of the PC gaming market. In Europe and Asia, PC gaming is HUGE, completely dominating consoles in terms of market share. As for Half-Life 2, that is a fact. If you count Steam sales along with retail, Half-Life 2 sold 13 million copies worldwide.

Hey buddy! lmao lol :D :) lol :p mauhahaha lol ... idiot

Ignorance is bliss or in your case just plain @ss..

Pc community is so big that we don't need a trillion titles that equal the same game since our community extends the life of each and every (good) game that comes along. How many maps are coming to the 360 for UT3? Oh 40 maps huh? Well the PC will have um.... (insert ongoing number here) maps and lets not forget custom weapons and even game modes to boot!

*EDIT

Oh and please take note at my sig for a minute. Those soldiers (especially the one on the mid right) represent the way I feel when I read/hear the ammount of a$$ that comes out from people like you. I also own a Xbox 360 (gamertag is in my sig)

Well, if you can provide a link for that, we'll believe you. I doubt Half Life 2 sold 13 million copies. Half Life isn't even popular in the Asian countries. I don't even think it was released in that region. In any case console gaming in the U.S. along is 12 billion industry, so I can only imagine how many billions it is in European and Asian regions.

I played the bioshock demo on my pc with my 7800 GS :P

Maxed out! 30fps

It's not a very graphic intensive game. Not by today's standard... Unless your playing on a console

Also I didn't buy the game. I already played system shock 2, thanks.

[QUOTE="trizzle_a"]1018 seeders, 2000 leachers, figure that out.GGNoRematch

so why again do developers make games for the PC anymore if they're just going to get bootlegged?

Because even with Piracy, which is downright wrong and ridiculous in it's own right, there are still an enormous amount of people willing to pay for PC games. That's the bottom line. While I enjoy my consoles like many other PC Gamers, PC Gaming offers what console gaming doesn't like mouse and keyboard controls, ability to build custom machines, the ability to play modded versions of games, strong game genres on PC like RTS and MMO's etc..etc.. These are just my personal reasons why I and millions of others will always lean towards PC Gaming over console gaming.

Calling PC Gamers nerds doesn't get you far either, you are in fact writing BS on a Gaming forum yourself, not to mention, you're a gamer yourself, not sure why people that like the same hobby as you are all that different.

I guarantee every multiplat game that's on the PC and 360.. the 360 version will outsell it 3:1 or better..

GGNoRematch

Is that why FEAR, OrgangeBox, CnC3 and BfME2 sold much better on PC than on 360?

not ever one is rich

just because you to poor to afford a nice Pc doesn't mean that it's dyeing

Hman321

You don't need to be "rich" to enoy PC Gaming. All you need is a job. Unless you're a kiddie mooching off of mommy and daddy, there's no reason you can't enjoy games on a nice PC.

[QUOTE="horrowhip"][QUOTE="GGNoRematch"][QUOTE="horrowhip"]

XanderZane

you joking me?

No I am not joking... The US is a small portion of the PC gaming market. In Europe and Asia, PC gaming is HUGE, completely dominating consoles in terms of market share. As for Half-Life 2, that is a fact. If you count Steam sales along with retail, Half-Life 2 sold 13 million copies worldwide.

Don't say things you don't know. CS is very popular in asia (which is bundled with HL)
