In announcing their financial results for the fourth quarter, Take-Two confirmed BioShock has now sold over two million copies worldwide across Xbox 360 and PC. Also, the newly formed 2K Marin will reportedly head BioShock 2, while Levine works on something completely new.

Their older games, namely SS2 and Tribes Vengeance, sold poorly. It's good that they got a sucessful game. Even if they did kill the Tribes franchise.

That's okay I guess.A lot lower than I expected. The only thing is that The Witcher was way more underhyped and that's already sold a million.

They didnt exactly kill the franchise.

They did their best to REVIVE it, and introduce new players to it - as the only people who played T2 were the hardcore community.

Their biggest fault was abandoning online support - a month after poor sales - which caused the online community to dwindle.

It was still an exellent game.

To introduce new plyers to a franchise, advertising is a must. It got totally ecplisped by WoW, Doom 3 and Half-Life 2, they thought it would sell by word of mouth. Which it didn't.

It was a good game yes, but they reduced the player limit on MP, they abandoned the online after a month, they released an awful beta that put off many fans of the original.I'm sure they could of done better, it also didn't help that the T2 community was small before anyway thanks to its bugs on release.

They didn't exactly directly blow it's brains out, but they could of done many things better. But hey, at least the original is free now with many players still online :)

Indeed the game wasent marketed that well, and was HEVAILY overshadowed by the big name FPSs comming out. It was released at a bad time.

But yea the beta did put fans off - the 32 player limit was ok - restrictions of the unreal engine seemed to bone a 64 player one, and yea the T2 community was quite small (and dedicated) - compared to the T1 community.

But yea it was surprisng its SP was actually very good - and its MP was exellent - but yea it had its issues no doubt.

Is the T1 community still going? I thought that it would be dead by now. Wow I might just go download it now - Ive been waiting to get back into the game that pretty much got me into online gaming.

The T1 community is still going, I last had it installed earlier this year, it's not like it was back in 1998-1999, but it's great for nostalgia.

Ah, and watch out, all the people that still do play it are all masters at the game. The free version isn't patched either.

I am sure it sold a lot more on the 360. A Single player game with horrible DRM protection that limits your installs doesn't sound sound like a blockbuster to me.

to me they made T2 way to complicated. I loved tribes but didn't like tribes 2 because of that.

Well its protection is fine - and you can renew every time you have installed it - with no hassless - so there is no 'per computer installtions'.

And singleplayer = better on 360?

I have the 360 demo and it on PC, and I can tell you its better on PC right off the bat.

Never the less where is the proof?
