Bioshock will be this Fall's Oblivion......

And by that I mean an overhyped game that will not be as engrossing as the developers would have you believe. I mean Oblivion was nice, but in the end it was just a watered down wanna be MMORPG with reused textures (Planes of Oblivion, caves, Ayleid ruins anyone)? and repetitive, BORING combat. Maybe I am missing all the excitement with BS, but haven't we already seen gamesthat promisethe whole "use your environment as your weapon" hook? What makes BS stand out more than oh I dunno Half Life per say? And from the movies and screens I have seen (and yes I understand the game is not out yet) there appears to be a total lack of enemy variety. The enemies, except Big Daddy, look like they react to you like those in Condemned: Criminal Origins.

Bioshock looks VERY pretty don't get me wrong but so did TESIV but in the end the game was a piece of crap IMO.......guess we just have to wait out this next two weeks to find out if BioShock will follow suit.

If it becomes this Fall's Oblivion (which I severly doubt), I am sure to hurt myself.

Oblivion far from sucked, Bioshock is nothing like Oblivion, if anything it is like Half-Life.

Oblivion got wonderful scores, Hell I even thought I liked it for a moment. But Honestly Oblivion was nothing to brag to your friends about. I Just do not SEE what will be so groundbreaking about this game Bioshockand why it is getting this much hype. I agree with the repetitive combat, but personally to me, Oblivion is an amazing game that I don't think is hyped up enough.

I hope the second installment, if there will be one, will allow players to play alongside their friends on Live. That would be epic.

Oblivion sucked because it had no real character to devolpment system, No real consquences aside by breaking the law which was a best superficial.. And everything was leveled.. Results? A huge sand box of randomized dungeons who hold guys of all the same level with all the same weapons, using a person who can do anything and everything regardless of the skills they picked.. While being able to beat the game at level 2.. Yep... That sure sounds like a great game to me!

Exactly. I installed the OOO mod a few weeks ago, and got smashed up by an uber-bandit in the first hour. Then vampires. Then marauders... I'm doing better now... though...
