Its been awhile, Ive loved every Bioware game ive played since KOTOR until now. There first crappy game in a long time and let me explain why its crappy. ME2 got the same "dumbing down" treatment as DAO2 but the combat in ME2 is action, fast paced and very little in the way of "rpg math" is required to have fun, so because of the style of the mechanics in ME2 it worked beautifully. Now what specifically makes DAO fun is tweaking everything about your team, gear, talents etc. Because the way DAO combat works, it runs on math heaavily, and specific sets of gear, trinkets, necklaces, and rings, could be combined with certain builds to make an extremely strong team. It had an "open rpg" feel to customization, and because of the combat style, that specifically was the absolute high point of the game, and building different characters and getting the best in slot gear for those builds was what drove hardcore DAO players like me to play the game fully through over 5 times and buy every drop of content for the game. What they have done is give you the next model of a racecar with a go kart engine in it.
Seeing as they just took there only real modern RPG and turned it into hello kitty island adventure, this has me worried for SWTOR.
