Yeah, I am not sure what I should get. I already have a Wii and DS...

I am more interested in PS3... but then more of my friends have Xbox 360's.

I am more interested in PS3 exclusives, but with the cost of the system, I would probably have to use a lot of my birthday money to get it. Also I like how the online is free.

Some of the Xbox 360 exclusives interest me. I like how it is cheaper. I dont like how you have to pay for online, but if it is worth, I would probably pay for it. I am also afraid of getting the RRoD since my room can get really hot.

Not really interested in the PSP. It just seems like a convenient console.

Or I could just wait later on to make a better decision

If you get a 360, buy the Premium. I bought the Elite and it was a rip off.

If you get a PS3, wait for the MGS4 Bundle in June. It's the best value.

If you want a PSP, go for the God of War Bundle coming out in June. It's a good value and it's sexy.

:) You can't go wrong either way.

It doesn't matter what system if u like multiplayer (and ur friends:P) then buy what they buy its always more fun. If u don't care for multiplayer that much then buy the system with the exclusives u want more.

praytell how did you find a low failure rate, hard drive that would have cost you 60$+ less than a new system if you bought it seprate, sleek black finish and HDMI input a rip off?

Low failure rate? I've had 2 Elites die on me, so I'm guessing they're just as faulty as the other SKU's. COnsider yourself lucky, because there is no proof out there that they have a low failure rate. The failure rate for all 360's is rather high.

The 120GB HDD was overkill for me. I stream everything off my PC's HDD, so I never need to take up HDD space for any of that stuff. All I use it for is map packs and arcade games.

Sleek black finish? Really? Mine's matte black.

Every 360 has HDMI now.

Elite and Core's are rip offs. Buy the Premium.

while i can agree that 16% is still very high compared to say, the ps3s 4% and the Wiis 2% (just rough estamates), apparently the premieum 360s (or ones with the old chips anyways) have fail rates up to 30%.

if they have falcon chips, then yes they are the same

First off your going to get more ppl saying 360 on this forum b/c the ps3 owners are actually playing there systems rather than browsing forums all day.

But go for the PS3

* You get free online which is very smooth

* Has an outstanding game line-up for this year and so on

* Has the best potential to grow than any system and bc depending on the model you get

* Blu-ray player and boy do blu-rays look awesome hdmi ready and dont forget about that low failure rate compared to the competitor.

But my real reason for having a ps3 is i like a variety of games and playstation always have delivered you got your top fighting games like tekken, you have sports, you have great adventure games, your top notch rpgs from square and you even have fps.

x-box is mostly based on fps I mean I like fps but thats all what it seems x-box has to offer and if your not a big fan of that then i also dont suggest one.

Thats my two cents

I agree that is a great idea, but I voted for PS3 since he said he is more interested in PS3 so that is why I chose to vote for it. Since he said it is what he is leaning towards and I don't want to change his opinion.

No HDTV yet... is it still worth a purchase?

Also is the Xbox 360's online way better? If it is, then I dont mind paying the money.

Still woth the purchase yea....because either way you're still gaming on an SDTV.

XBL's better no doubt....but not like OMGWTFBBQ better. Sony is working it's way up in it's service however. The PS Store is great, and with the inclusion of In-game XMB (summer) and HOME (who the hell knows....my guess is Fall) I wouldn't really see much differences between Xbox Live and PSN

Ok TC if you still haven't made up your mind by all these ppl giving you options and opinions and looking at your poll results. Here is a sure fire plan and Bound to work.

Get a 360 now since your undecisive make sure your get some type of warrenty to avoid rrod and then get the metal gear bundle sometime in summer and if you dont have a job get it for christmas or something. Thats the option you can take if you really can't make up your mind. That way you will get a dual shock 3 controller the most-hyped game of the year and a great console and you will also have a 360 so you wont have to choose.

I did not come at you directly so dont come at me I made a general statement and you should be asking yourself the same question. But to answer your question I dont browse the forums all day I see a person in need of advice so I give my two cents so I guess I touched one of your nerves for you to come at me that way. But i do see more x-box owners on systems wars more in general than i see ps3 owners and that how it appears to me ever since i came on system wars but whats weird is that this kids poll still has ps3 winning in the poll so i dont know maybe they browse but dont post as often who cares kid get what you want.

Honestly, from all the feedback I've heard, the wii60 is the better combo. I myself will most likely be a PS360 or whatever they call it, but yeah. Forget everything you've read on SW, and get a 360.

Get an Xbox 360 pro, keep a fan next to it if your rooms hot, just follow these instructions: http://youtube.com/watch?v=m3PbS1u98O4 . If more of your friends have X360 you'll definitely have more fun with that, especially when games like Gears of War 2 come out

Your basically listening to people who are trying to recruit you into the army of nerds to join there cause for more sells of there system. My theory I say you sample both of them if you can, get a feel to which one you like better, got to your local gamestop play a few demos from each of them test the controllers and the look and feel of different games and choose for yourself.

I tried both systems. I felt comfortable with both of them. I was more used to the PS3 controller because I had a PS2 . I didnt get to play too many games. I played Ratchet and Clank and Folklore on the PS3. Folklore was okay, but I really liked the Ratchet and Clank game. I played Halo 3 and it is a pretty cool game. I also played the Katamari game for the Xbox 360 and it was pretty fun.

Basically what he said, its your Birthday and we have no idea what type of games/genres your into so in the end get what appeals more to you.

Well I like action, adventure, and RPG games. Kinda like FPS and fighting games. Hate most sport and racing games.

PS3 with Heavenly Sword 1&2 (2 coming out later this year/early 09), Resistance 2, Final F-ing Fantasy 13, FFVersus 13, Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Online, God of War 3 (coming soon according to GoW:CoO manual), Star Ocean 4, Tekken 6, GTA4 and other multiplas shared with 360.

Trust me, the extra $50-100 pays off after a year of Live payments. Anyway, the PS3 online is already great, and will get even better/equal to Live in 2 or 3 months. Not bad for the first 2 years on an online service right? Shows how a company is dedicated vs. SOME other company making you PAY FOR LAGGY PEER 2 PEER online! Also, free wi-fi capability, using ANY Blurtooth headset you have, and the multimedia (you WILL use it eventually, great for the living room) and knowing your console won't melt while playing the heavy disc-reading GTA4 is great.

Sirjackalot

please explain why your on the fourms instead of playing all your gamespot rated AAA quality games on your ps3?

I did not come at you directly so dont come at me I made a general statement and you should be asking yourself the same question. But to answer your question I dont browse the forums all day I see a person in need of advice so I give my two cents so I guess I touched one of your nerves for you to come at me that way. But i do see more x-box owners on systems wars more in general than i see ps3 owners and that how it appears to me ever since i came on system wars but whats weird is that this kids poll still has ps3 winning in the poll so i dont know maybe they browse but dont post as often who cares kid get what you want.

i'm not getting mad, your statement seemed a bit hypocritical, thats all.

and i'm not playing my 360 for the reasons that people are on the good TV, i only own halo 3, tetris, and borrowed assassins creed, i already beat halo on normal, working on heroic. beat assassins creed and tetris got boring
