[QUOTE="Guppy507"] I guess it would be fair to add VtM:B to Black Isle, but Bioware would still win.Guppy507

To me,looking at all those BI games it´s flawless victory for BI. :P

They might have beaten Bioware by a bit if I had actually liked Fallout 1 and 2. I couldn't get passed the combat though. :( Then again, it's been a long time since I've given Fallout another chance. Maybe someday...

You should really give F1 & F2 another chance, they´re amazing games. I love the combat myself.

[QUOTE="Arach666"] A few,many went on and created Troika.RyuRanVII

Then Troika disbanded and some went to Obsidian anyways. It was destiny.....:P

And some of them created Double Bear, which is bringing an awesome cRPG next year called Dead State. :D

Massively looking forward to that. Found out about it on this very forum!

Planescape >> Baldurs Gate. :P

Well Black Isle also assisted the development of Baldur's Gate so you're basically putting one piece of their work above another :P.

Fallout has actually aged really well. I picked it up last year, with no prior experience, and got into it. With my spec, I 3 shot the last boss. It was actually an awesome combat system. I melted a lawwwt of faces, including super mutants. The graphics are kinda uggghly, but the game mechanics are tight as a drum. Don't know how you couldn't like it, but then again I don't know how people could like Call of Duty.

Why not? A few ppl have already stated "Black Isle/ Bioware by a LOT!" without having the need to say why. Why should his reaction require one?

I love how disturbingly detailed some of the death animations are, 'specially the Lieutenant's. Definitely made the combat even more fun

Since no matter what he says, the BI fanboys will retort with "Nuh uh! Bioware blows!!!" it doesn't actually matter the reason he holds that opinion. Breaking it down into details will only encourage bickering, since the Fallout and Planescape fans refuse to give any credit to Bioware for any of the fantastic games they've put out in the last decade.

Your opinion is just an opinion and not really worth the posting space. I want to hear your reasoning. Anything else is worthless to me. And I repeat....have you ever played any games made by Black Isle Studios?

Bioware and fantastic games don't belong in the same sentence. Bioware just cookie cutters to the console crowd with their shallow action games which somehow seem to be RPG's in the minds of the console crowd.

Bioware is laughable and the old Black Isle games still poop over all the recent Bioware games.

This.

And biowars better, though i dont know why people seem to think this means the other choice sucks.

Its like comparing 2 games, one gets a 9.5, the other gets a 9.4, then raging about how the second game sucks, its just moronic.

I believe it's because Bioware basically just did the Baldur's Gate games(with some help here and there from Black Isle btw;) ) and then they just basically started doing clones that where less and less complex in various ways. The only thing that Bioware has done right lately is rescuing and improving the old multiple dialogue choice system from the adventure genre. I don't know if I'm missing something.

There is a difference between "I feel like X is better" and "X is better," and he said the latter, and the latter requires support, else it's just chestpounding. Your opinion is not a sufficient basis for a knowledge claim. Logic 101.

And, frankly, a forum full of opinions is not worth anyone's time. Opinions are like....well. Everyone's got an opinion.

clones? really? so mdk2 is just a clone of baldurs gate? and jade empire? and dragon age? and mass effect? heck teh onloy thing thats even close to that is NWN.

At least bioware has some variety, BI made one style of game, unless theres some massive difference im not aware of in icewind dale.

Having the choice to either help, or refuse and call an alien a big stupid jellyfish isn't deep. If I wanted a deep game, I'd play DSC Blackshark.

the dialog wheel is deigned to simplify the the process of choosing an answer or action and prevent the screen from been clutter with long small text, yet the the background story is HUGE and the character also feel like they were very carefully created not just some side kick another reason why like Bioware is the believability of their games, the codex contain a massive-fictional-yet very plausible information like the manupation of the Time-Space fabric by using dark matter, something that is still a mystery today, or how the body armours work i won't disagree on Mass Effect 2, because i was a little disappointed, it is an RPG lite, but the game is DEEP nonetheless

I didn't forget anything. I only posted the games I liked, from both devs. ;)

Didn't like Fallout? Guppy... :x

fallout was cool if you played it back then but now its very dated. Like if i were to play Baldurs gate today i wouldn't be able to stand it but since that was one of my most payed games when i was 10 thats a different story.

Bioware.

Baldur's Gate 1 & II, KotoR 1 & 2, Mass Effect 1 & 2, Dragon Age 1 & 2, NeverWinter Nights, Sonic Chronicles, Dark Age of Camelot, SW: TOR. What more do you need? Their games rule.

Orly, how so? You can't just say "a wide margin" and then fail to support your opinion.....have you even played any Black Isle Studios games?loadedboon

Sounds like your upset because Bioware decided to make some console games. Black Isle has made console games too, I'm sure. KoToR games were just awesome. Millions of gamers loved those games. Mass Effect is also a very good series. Jade Empire wasn't the greatest, but it had it's moments. What was wrong with Neverwinter Nights?

What about Obsidian vs Bioware.

I really wish Obsidian was given a good publisher with full freedom to make an awesome game again.

Black Isle. Any other answer is wrong... there is no room for subjectivity here.

Unless you're one of those extreme Bioware fans who state something along the lines of BG2>Black Isle...

Obsidian needs better programmers IMO. But I do find their games to contain deeper RPG elements than Bioware titles this gen.

Blackisle may be dead, but I'd still take Planescape Torment and Fallout 2 over anything Bioware ever did(this is coming from someone that did enjoy Mass Effect 2 btw)jg4xchamp

So did I. Sure I have my complaints on the game: Level Design, Cities, RPG elements and on quite a bit of the plot etc, but the game was more than a worthy experience imo--I found it fun.

I find it far from being Bioware's worst like many people think. I just don't understand how someone can speak ill of Bioware's latest games--series like Mass Effect or even Dragon Age on level design etc and then praise Kotor to hell and back... I just don't get it...

Black Isle, by miles.

BioWare has made some good games, but Black Isle made ****ing masterpieces.
