Black Ops 6 gets a PS5 Pro upgrade!

PlayStation 5 Pro's update has been out in the wild for a good month already, and it's clear that Black Ops 6's upgrades run deeper than most. Some tweaks are subtle, while others make a more evident difference to frame-rate performance. In summary, PS5 Pro users get improved visual settings while running at 60Hz, plus the adoption of PSSR to boost image quality with 4K as the target output. An anti-lag VRR feature is also added only on PS5 Pro - letting us run at above 60fps while using that default graphics mode. Beyond that, there's a broad performance boost with the 120Hz mode enabled, where PS5 Pro reverts to base PS5 visual settings to deliver a higher frame-rate.

Yeah, checked out this morning. It is a pretty miserable nothing burger update. Not sure why Xbox even bothered. It's an old game engine and the Pro can't even hold 120.

Campaign was pretty good, I liked the one huge open level and the campaign mission where you went bananas.

Activision has for most part always been a very capable developer as far as understanding the hardware they're making games for. They were one of first developers to tackle XB1X versions for their games, managed to have the most technically solid built PS3 games at launch with COD3 regardless of people not liking it overall, and managed to put the COD4 on Wii. I'm still waiting to see if they can keep this streak up with putting COD on Switch hardware; speaking of, what ever happened to that?

Haha yeah, that was a lot of fun. Calling in missile strikes and just romping around with your squad and truck lol. Reminded me of some of the older "mil sim" games like from Nova Logic and elsehwere.

Campaign in general was a lot of fun. That heist level was kind of fun for the opposite reason the open map one was.

It's still the Quake 3 engine afaik.

Well the PS5 Pro is the best console to play Xbox games on.

We wouldn't have to play Xbox games on our PS if PS put out some games.

I think you got it backwards. The purpose of owing PS5 is to play Sony games, not MS games. Back in my console gaming days, buying that console means playing that exclusive titles only on that console such as Sony. At least Nintendo still recognize this.

Not at all. The Playstation is also a great place to play Playstation exclusives but the point of the post is to stress Microsofts console is completely redundant.

Ohh I play both actually. I mean MS did have to buy up half the industry so they could actually release decent games... so it's nice they are putting them on a platform that's still relevant.

I'll enjoy a superior version of Doom and Indiana Jones after I enjoyed GOTY winner Astro Bot... it's the best of both worlds on Playstation.

I want MS to sell enough Xbox consoles so that developers see it as a viable option to put their games on it so they can make money and thus release future games on Xbox.

Your doppelganger in Phil is doing everything he can to jeopardise that by putting all of Xbox's games on everything else and fast making Xbox redundant. It's been reported that X/S sales are behind the XB1, and that console was considered a failure.

As i've said i'm a console ONLY gamer, I don't care for a firestick, PC or whatever to play my games on. I also don't give a shit who sells the most each gen.

if you prefer to game on console, you will continue to have Xbox hardware to choose from.. Xbox is not leaving the hardware business.. it's just that simple..

i know you hate to concept of options but that's exactly what Xbox is providing: options.. Xbox consoles will continue to be an option in addition to being able to play on PC, cloud, and etc..

Yep, options are great, that’s why people will have options to choose anything other than an Xbox to play Xbox games. That’s only bad news for Xbox, the console, for sure.

By putting your games on other platforms (options as you call it) you devalue your own platform to the point sales tank, that's what MS has done on Phils watch.

When your current system is selling worse than your last system which wasnt that great, then you are telling devs that it might not be worth putting games on Xbox without a GP deal as they don't have enough console sales to make it worthwhile for devs to make money.

If you give people a reason to NOT come to your console then they won't.

Imagine being a car dealer/restaurant/Cafe etc and a potential customer comes to you and asks about your product and you say the place down the road sells the same things as i do, you might wanna go check them out, you're only killing yourself.

How does this simple concept escape you?

the Xbox "platform" is more than just the console (an ideal that also applies to PlayStation).. the Xbox platform is generating more money than ever before; ensuring continued investment in said platform..

and, again, Xbox hardware isn't going anywhere.. Xbox will have console hardware for this gen and the next (no different than PlayStation or Nintendo).. so your "concern" is unfounded..

if you want to play Xbox games on an Xbox console, you will continue to have that option.. How does this simple concept escape you?..
