Treyarch, I'm not a fan.
Also, it's Activisions yearly game...and it's ACTIVISION, so I'm not hyped at all.
Wasdie
Because activision actually directs the game and writes all of the code. The only thing they screw up is the DLC.
IW was the one who made MW2 suck. They decided to go with the overly dramatic story, they decided on the killstreaks and perks, they decided on IW Net, it was them who decided the PC didn't need anything for it to sell.
Doesn't matter, It's Activision who I've been successfully boycotting since 2008. Now, when I do buy an Activision product, which is rare, it's used. Like MW2 and COD5:W@W. Yes, IW made MW2 "suck" according to some, but guess what? Even a sucky COD game like MW2 was still AAA! In the end, people can clearly see by playing the two companies games and comparing like I did OR just take the the Metacritic scores of both companies COD games that still reflect that IW >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Treyarch.
Not that I'm a fan of annual games, like COD has become.
Besides, IW has had known issues with Activision before the known IW destroyed by Acti scandal. It's true IW's MW2 was a let down compared to MW1 to some (even though it was AAA), but ACTI had a lot of behind the scenes control, including removal of key COD4 staffers.
It's not like I'm trusting Metacritic either, I own all of Treyarchs games like COD3, W@W, and their Spidey games as well (I have more but you get the idea).
IMHO, Treyarch aren't good or deserving of my $60 and haven't made a widely accepted AAA COD game, and are riding the COD license created by IW. They are using assets created by IW. It's nice that they aren't horrible, but I don't think they are just an average - fairly decent developer that lucked out when Activision forced IW to share coding at assets with Treyarch.
I'm looking forward to the mid AA scores that this game will recieve (as everyone knows, Treyarch is the generic COD developer compared to the now defunct IW), and I won't be giving Activision a cent. Especially after what ACTI did to IW. If I do buy the game, it will be used, and it probably won't be for a long while...and most likely, I will not be buying the game ever. Treyarch sux imho.
Activision will continue to pump out yearly COD's with huge marketing budgets and people will gobble it up...just like ACTI did to Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero. With IW gone I suppose this is all people can get hyped for, but one look at TREYARCH's past efforts is all I need to be reluctant to jump on board.
Like I said before,Treyarch, I'm not a fan.

I'm not against great games, and if this game does score exceptional, I may give TREYARCH their 10th chance with me (W@W was super broken, but that is a whole other argument). I hope this game is AWESOME, but I'm not going to jump on the Marketing Splashed out by Activision. I'm not going to do it. I offer reluctance, as I should, as I'm weary of Treyarch's broken design, and Activision's scandalous behavior. I hope Treyarch can do it right this time, but I doubt it. I've been here before, and I've had this conversation before back in 2008 with W@W. This is Deja Vu for me.
