PS3 since 360's d-pad is garbage for 2D fighters, and since this is like guilty gear, analog isn't a great option.
EDIT: woops, didn't see that you have a fight stick. since you do, get it for 360
If you play online get the 360 versions
Xbox Live players generally have a higher skill level then PSN players
since you have a fight stick for it then definetly the 360 version, even if the PS3 controller is superiour to the 360 version having a fight stick means you should automatically get the version that you have the fight stick on (which as you said is your 360)
Both versions are exactly the same but the Ps3 version offers way better control's. However, if you have a 360 arcade stick then thats your choice.
The 360's dpad is fine for fighting games. If you suck with it, then it's because you suck at fighting games.

The 360's d-pad is garbage. Trying to say anything else is a flat out blind fanboy lie.
Back on topic..... If you have a fight stick for the 360, then get the 360 version. Fight sticks > standard contollers 100% of the time. and being the game is exactly the same other-wise it should be a no brainer.
No, it doesn't. He has a stick for the 360. Arcade stick is best for fighters. PS3 controller is moderately better for fighters than a 360 one, but that doesn't make it GOOD for fighters. It just makes it slightly less gimped. But gimped is still gimped.it comes down to which controller works better.Rza_rectah

Correct, the controller for the Xbox 360 is not good for fighting games. The "D" pad is too stiff and it needs to have a solid grip on all four sides. For example, if you want to do a Shoryuken with Ryu, you have a great chance of pulling of the Hadoken instead. Luckily I have both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and since I have too many games for the Xbox I want to build my PlayStation 3 collection on games. Since I just bought the Playstation about two weeks ago. Definitely a better controller.Well if your paying for live and have an arcade stick and like using and have most of your friends on live then go for it.
I got my copy for the PS3 although it hasn't arrived yet. The controller is just superior for fighting games in my opinion. It's not even about the D-pad for me as I use the joystick. For some reason I'm able to pull off moves much easier with the joystick, at least in SFIV.
It depends...if you arent too good at games get the PSN version since PSN gamers generally have a lower skill level
Get Xbox Live if your good since XBL players are generally more skilled then PSN players
You are going to back up that claim right? because I would like to see how you assume the PSN players are worse than the XBL players..at Blazblue. It depends...if you arent too good at games get the PSN version since PSN gamers generally have a lower skill level

yeah, maybe probably games like CoD, and other shooter and FPS games. but when it comes to fighting games, please, PSN players destroy XBL players. for the fact that there are more JPN players on PSN, that alone proves my point. competition is tough on SFIV PSN.It depends...if you arent too good at games get the PSN version since PSN gamers generally have a lower skill level

The competition is tough on XBL as well...having more JPN players isn't saying anything if the 360 has more NA players....if im not mistaken both games sold the same amount or a similar number atleast. if you have the arcade stick for the 360, go for the 360 version. there probably won't be any difference between the two versions.
i am going for the ps3 version since nobody knows right know if it gets a european release, so i am going to import the ps3 version. i also like the ps3 pad better for these kind of games and the free online (only have XBL silver atm).

There are some SBO qualifying players in Japan who play on XBL. There are more on the PS3 version. In a dustloop.com poll, there were more people getting the game for PS3 than 360. I'd imagine slightly more shoryuken.com players are on xbl (though I could be wrong). The reason ps3 will most likely have a bit more competition is due to PS2 sticks being compatible with PS3 via lagless adapter. A lot of the older FG fans bought ps3s because they didn't want to have to replace $125 (stock) to $250 (custom) sticks. This isn't to say PSN skill will automatically be higher than XBL skill... the overwhelming majority on both consoles are going to be horrible. It depends...if you arent too good at games get the PSN version since PSN gamers generally have a lower skill level

I was directing my post at anyone who might be interested in what level of play might be on either console and my general opinion is that it won't matter much. If you are looking for solid comp, you'll find plenty of players looking to up their game on any BB forum (dustloop, bb on zetaboards, or shoryuken).
This probably isn't quite the post to mention it in, but I will go ahead anyways: The xbox 360 version of BB is slightly better than the ps3 version. Having played both (I own the PS3 version), being able to copy the game to the HD on 360 cuts down on load times. The load times are short on the ps3, but having the game installed on 360 reduces those load times even further. I'm hoping ASW will patch in a 'short cut' option like the Guilty Gear series had. Shortcut allowed a retry option in versus mode rather than jumping you back to the character select screen and having to reload everything again before the next match. This was a great feature for playing consecutive matches.
edit: Hmm... I carried out my assessment from the viewpoint that you are playing the game with sticks (which you should be!). However, a lot of players will not be playing with sticks. I didn't consider how horrible the stock 360 controller is for fighters. I think that evens things out a bit. I guess I'd rank it like this: 1) 360 + sticks 2) ps3 + sticks 3) ps3 controller = 360 w/ game copied to HD (no sticks).
People dont seem to realize that JPN players arent better at fighting games then North Americans
Ive played with hundreds of JPN gamers in fighting games for over a decade from everything
From Street Fighter Alpha 3 to SF3 to MVC to Guilty Gear to Blaz Blue
JPN players are no more skilled then North Americans are
And yeah the skill level for Live Gamers is leagues above PSN gamers by an insanely large margin...the best of PSN would basically be average on Xbox Live

Japanese players aren't innately better at fighting games, but that doesn't change the fact that they are better than the rest of world at fighting games... The two main reasons for this are that they have access to the fighters long before we do and that there is a thriving arcade scene in Japan. Being able to readily find competitive matches with a huge variety of players months before a game sees a console release is an advantage. Having a relatively large population of FG players in a small geographical area and the means to interact with players on a face-to-face basis grows competition.
Are you trolling? The U.S. teams rarely get past the first round in SBO while just about any "known" (hell, even unknown) japanese player is practically garunteed top8 at evo for any game that isn't MvC2.
You are kidding me right. That is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard on SW so congratulations on that. Its almost Sig worthy for its stupidity. Anyhow if you have a Fight Stick for the 360 get it for that. To the guy who called the PS3 D Pad Garbage you have no idea what your talking about, its the best on the market at the moment, its responsive and accurate....If you play online get the 360 versions

I agree that the ps3 d pad is by far the best but from what i have heard from a fair few people is that when playing cod on live is way harder than psn as there are more hardcore fps shooter players on 360 although i dont know if that would correspond to fighting games. You're insane. I use the joystick (gief!!) 100%, but the PS3 joystick is horrible compared to the 360's. It decides you're inputting down/up at like 10 degrees off center, it's insane. And the placement's really bad for the same reason the 360's dpad placement sucks.I got my copy for the PS3 although it hasn't arrived yet. Cancel your XBL subscription and get the PS3 version with the money you'll save this year alone. Next year buy God of War 3 with the money you save. And a new game every year after that. Cheers.
overall the ps3 has more power and is a better system the 360 ist as powerful plus it uses a dvd drive there are many more reasonsthat the ps3 is better like it has a better controllerthat takes about 5 mins to recharge and is sneaking up on the 360 with 1.5 million units sold the 360 has 2. something units sold and it was releasedin december but all true gamers game on a pc better everythingon it
