Blizzard in Diablo III console talks

A console version of Diablo III may be close to becoming reality, after Blizzard claimed it was "theoretically possible" last year.

"Paul Sams of Blizzard says they haven't ruled out Diablo III for consoles, and are currently talking to the first parties," Tweeted GameTrailers TV editor Geoff Keighley, who might know a thing or two.

I also read before that Blizzard were talking to MS about bringing World of Warcraft to the next Xbox, so now we have major PC franchises going to consoles, what's the point of PC gaming again?. Seems like the reasons to be a PC gamer get smaller by the day.

I play my Blizzard games on the PC thank you very much.

Now, lets just get this straight, its not confirmed. Blizzard may port Diablo to console, we don't know there plans. They have repeatedly told us though that PC is the main platform. Diablo is a PC game, they make it for PC and it will be best on PC. Like most multiplats. Really, im sick of these silly threads by console gamers.

What you know street fighter 4 and a metal gear game on pc. Reasons to be console gamer gets smaller every day. Also this month pc got 2 AAE. How many did 360 or ps3 got? Even if diablo3 will be on consoles ( which still is not sure ) i'm quite sure the pc version just like valve games will outsold console versions and will be the version that blizzard supports the most

Iam talking about games like DMC4, Streetfighter 4, Batman AA, Prototype, all console games on the PC.

Just because a PC game goes to console its no reason to say whats the point in being a PC gamer...

The point is that consoles are cheaper and less complicated (no need to worry about crashing or missing drivers or running out of harddrive space ect) and still have a more diverse genre of games and better exclusives nowadays. You aren't seeing Halo 3, Gears of War 2, MGS4, or any other popular console franchises going over to PC, but you ARE seeing popular PC franchises making the switch to consoles.

I don't know how'd they do the controls considering how fast you have to click in Diablo games. (Not to mention the hotkeys)

But I would love to be able to play with my friends who don't have gaming PC's.

well the pc has a larger userbase and is cheaper in other countries than console gaming... if WoW were to come out on consoles dont expect a huge following since 5 million+ userbase will be on pc and it wouldnt make since to buy a console and another copy of the game again just to play it... remember pc is larger outside of the usa.. btw starcraft came out a long time ago.. i think it was on the N64 yet that didnt quite catch on..

I'll still get it for PC, as tempting as it would be to play it on 360, It'll play better on PC. I need hotkeys for Diablo.

However, we were fairly impressed when they showed us that the editor allows first-person game creation. What?! Yes, that even includes details as far down as UI manipulation and an inventory system. That's a lot more than you'd expect from a simple "map editor." One employee-created game was an FPS featuring a very familiar, bouncing-ponytailed Ghost that was created in just a few days.

so far all thats been said is that the parties have made 'compelling arguements' well see where it goes. i wouldnt be all too surprised if down the road it was announced at least for the ps3 (battle.net wont conflict with PSN and ps3 can use mouse and keyboard) and maybe the 360.

so far though theres no conclusive support for it coming.

Diablo was far slower than Diablo 3, and did not rely on targeted abilities, thats whats going to cause a problem with a controler.

Melee combat will be easy, targeting enemies and areas with spells will be nearly impossible.
